Patent number: 5649613Abstract: A rotary clutch (1) for the drive of cleaning spirals (6) for the cleaning of pipelines has a set of clutch jaws (2), which can move radially with respect to the axis (A--A) of the clutch, each of these jaws having an inner friction surface for carrying along the cleaning spiral (6) and at least one first outer control surface (8), extending at an angle to the clutch axis (A--A). A drivable control sleeve (4 or 5) with at least one second inner control surface (9) can execute relative motion toward this control surface (8), the inner control surface having an inclination comparable to that of the outer control surfaces (8) of the clutch jaw (2). To reduce the actuating forces and to increase the drive torque, the clutch jaws (2) and the control sleeve (4 or 5), at least one of which is provided, are provided with positively engaging carrier elements (10, 11).Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1995Date of Patent: July 22, 1997Assignee: Rothenberger Werkzeuge-Maschinen GmbHInventor: Jurgen Truschler

Patent number: 5603136Abstract: A hollow shaft (4) connected to a drive motor is supported in a machine housing (2) in such a way as to act on a rotary coupling (13) with at least two coupling jaws (28, 29). These jaws are held with freedom of radial and axial movement in recesses (23) in a jaw holder (14), which is able to rotate with the hollow shaft, the recesses being bounded by parallel surfaces (24, 25). The jaws can be pressed radially against the spiral wire rod under the action of a control device (16). To increase the operating reliability and to make it easier to replace the coupling jaws, one end of the hollow shaft (4) is connected nonrotatably with respect to a coupling housing (9), the circumference of which is at least mostly closed, and the jaw holder (14) with the coupling jaws (28, 29) is supported in the coupling housing (9) in such a way that it is not free to rotate but can be removed in the axial direction.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1996Date of Patent: February 18, 1997Assignee: Rothenberger Werkzeuge-Maschinen GmbHInventor: Jurgen Truschler

Patent number: 5463886Abstract: The invention concerns a process and an apparatus for manufacturing soldering rods with a copper percentage of at least 60 weight-%. An extruder serves to convert a block of the alloy at a temperature between 540.degree. and 680.degree. C. into an individual wire of a maximum diameter of 10 mm. Upon emerging from the extruder, the wire is chilled to a temperature below 250.degree. C. and either intermediately stored or directly further processed. Immediately following a conductive heating to temperature between 200.degree. and 280.degree. C., the wire is fed to a multi-stage reducing mill where it is reduced by rolling in each stage by a maximum of 25% until it has reached its final cross section.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1991Date of Patent: November 7, 1995Assignee: Rothenberger Werkzeuge-Maschinen GmbHInventor: Reiner Seitz

Patent number: 5243845Abstract: A flaring tool (1) for hollow workpieces having a basic tool body (2) with an expanding mandrel (13), which can be displaced by means of a drive. A supporting device (5) concentrically surrounding the expanding mandrel with an exchangeable expansion head (6) which has radially movable expanding jaws (14) located in a screw cap (16). The supporting device (5) is placed in the basic tool body (2) and can be moved longitudinally by means of a threaded extension (8) in the direction of the (A--A) axis of the expanding mandrel (13), and has an annular flange (11) which serves as a stop (10) for the expansion head. The supporting device (5) is fixed opposite the basic tool body (2) by means of a stopping device. In order to achieve a simple, reliable and reproducible set-up the supporting device (5) has in its annular flange (11), in a circle placed concentrically to the (A--A) axis, index boreholes for an index pin (29), located in the basic tool body (2).Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1992Date of Patent: September 14, 1993Assignee: Rothenberger Werkzeuge-Maschinen GmbHInventor: Karl-Heinz Velte

Patent number: 5213494Abstract: A portable burner (1) has a first (6) and a second mixer tube (18) for the delivery of primary and secondary air. To the first mixer tube belong an injector nozzle (2) for fuel gas and a spin producer (10). This first mixer tube (6) leads concentrically into the second mixer tube (18) larger in diameter, which has an inlet end (19) for the burner flame and aspiration points (20) for the secondary air. For the achievement of a thorough mixing of hot and cold gases and a low mixing temperature, between the outlet end (13) of the first mixer tube (6) and the inlet end (19) of the second mixer tube (18) there is disposed a filler body (16) filling the radial distance between the two tube ends and having a radial end face (21) from which the outlet end (13) of the first mixer tube (6) protrudes by a given amount "s." The aspiration points (20) for the secondary air are disposed exclusively in the area of the outlet end (13) of the first mixer tube (6) and aimed radially at the nozzle axis (A--A).Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 1991Date of Patent: May 25, 1993Assignee: Rothenberger Werkzeuge-Maschinen GmbHInventor: Palle L. Patent number: 5046349Abstract: An expansion tool (1) for pipes with a basic tool body (2) includes two hand levers (3, 12), one of which (12) operates an expanding mandrel (5) with a free rotating cylinder (19) through a control mechanism (10). By activating the lever, the expanding mandrel emerges from the basic body (2) sliding at a preset stroke against a set (15) of radially moving expanding wedges (16). In order to allow the enforced withdrawal of the expanding mandrel (5) with reduced operating forces and a specific force distribution, the cylinder (19) is journaled on a cylinder pin (19a). The expanding mandrel is connected to the movable hand lever (12) through a retraction device (20). In one form of construction with a cam shaped control mechanism (10), the retraction device (29) consists of a tension member with working points on the cylinder (19) and on the hand lever (12).Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1990Date of Patent: September 10, 1991Assignee: Rothenberger Werkzeuge-Maschinen GmbHInventor: Karl-Heinz Velte
