Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for retrieving an information file from a user profile about a scheduled trip, where access to content may be restricted and identifying, based on the consumption pattern, a first progression point before the scheduled start time and a second progression point after the scheduled end time of the scheduled trip. Based on the difference between the first and second progression points, the media guidance application causes to be stored the respective media assets on a consumption device. Then before departing for the scheduled trip, the media guidance application confirms the first progression points against the current progression point and causes to adjust the stored media assets based on a difference between the current progression point and the first progression point.

Abstract: The system generates a validation tool in response to receiving an indication to initiate validation. The system identifies at least one media content item based on a user profile, and generates at least one question based on the at least one media content item. The at least one media content item may include an image, a video, text, or a combination thereof. The system determines at least one answer corresponding to the at least one question. The question and answer may be determined based on a question template. For example, the template may be selected based on attribute types or values of the at least one media content item. The system generates the at least one question for output on an output device. Upon receiving input indicative to an answer, the system compares the inputted answer to the determined answer to determine whether to validate the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein such that, a media guidance application presents, in an interactive program guide, a virtual content source for binge watching a program series. The media guidance application may determine a program series a user is currently watching. The media guidance application may receive a user selection of a media asset. The media guidance application may determine a length of time between a current time and a start time of the media asset. The media guidance application may determine the next episodes of the program series the user can watch before the start time of the media asset and present them using a virtual content source.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and managing a breakout conference for a primary conference are disclosed. The system monitors communications between participants of a primary conference to determine if a) participants have a disagreement that needs to be resolved or b) if a topic from the meeting agenda requires additional time for discussion. Participant language, including negations and repetitive word usage, job profiles, body language, overlapping voice signals, among other factors, are monitored to determine if a disagreement exists. If a disagreement exists or additional time is required, the system automatically creates a virtual breakout session, determines the topic that created the disagreement, determines participants associated with the disagreed topic, and moves them to the breakout session.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for causing to be provided contextual information for a content item. The system identifies that a subject in a content item is currently being referenced and determines whether consumption of the content item could be enhanced based on the referenced subject. For example, the system identifies a king being discussed by characters in a television series and determines the king was referenced three months ago. The system determines, based on the last time the subject was referenced, whether to provide contextual information about the subject. Using the determined three-month lapse in time since the king was last referenced, the system determines that contextual information about the king should be provided. Accordingly, the system causes to be displayed the contextual information within closed captioning after determining contextual information should be provided.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for identifying a playlist of highlights to use for refreshing a user on a plot related to a media asset the user has requested to access based on how long it has been since the user last saw related programming. The media guidance application may receive a request from a user to access a media asset and may determine whether the user previously consumed a related media asset to the media asset. The media guidance application may determine whether a period of time between receiving the request and a time when the user previously consumed the related media asset exceeds a threshold period of time. If the period of time does not exceed the threshold, the media guidance application may play back a predefined playlist of highlights, and if it exceeds the threshold, the media guidance application may play back a customized playlist of highlights.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for generating meme content. A content item is tagged with one or more first tags based on metadata for the content item. The content item having the one or more first tags is received at user equipment. The content item is tagged with one or more second tags based on a user profile. A segment of the content item is identified based on the first and second tags. The identified segment is stored for use in generating meme content.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for inserting dialogue into query responses by generating and using dialogue metadata in conjunction with response templates. Metadata for each portion of dialogue of a plurality of portions of dialogue from a number of content items is stored, including information regarding the source content item, a transcript of the dialogue, and grammatical information. Upon receiving a query related to a content item, a type of response is first determined. Based on the type of response, and using the dialogue metadata, a portion of dialogue is identified for insertion into the response. The identified portion of dialogue is retrieved and inserted at an appropriate position within the response. The response is then generated for output.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for displaying subjects of a portion of content and searching for content related to a particular subject in the content. Media data of content is analyzed during playback, and a number of audio signatures are identified. Each audio signature is associated, based on audio characteristics, with a particular subject within the content. The audio signature is stored, along with a timestamp corresponding to a playback position at which the audio signature begins, in association with an identifier of the particular subject. Upon receiving a command, icons representing each of a number of audio signatures at or near the current playback position are displayed. Upon receiving user selection of an icon corresponding to a particular signature, a portion of the content corresponding to the audio signature is played back or a search is performed for content related to the signature represented by the selected icon.

Abstract: Methods and systems for identifying altered content are described herein. The system determines a content type for an unverified content item and determines verification criteria based on the content type. The system then locates a first verified content item corresponding to the unverified content item. Based on comparing the unverified content item to the first verified content item, the system determines whether the unverified content item violates the verification criteria. If the unverified content item violates the verification criteria, the system displays a verification flag indicating that the unverified content item violates the verification criteria. If the unverified content item does not violate the verification criteria, the system displays a verification flag indicating that the unverified content item does not violate the verification criteria.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed herein for a media guidance application that enhances the viewer experience by providing supplemental content related to a media asset during a fast-access playback operation. For example, in response to a user input during a fast-forward or rewind operation, the media guidance application may generate for display supplemental content related to the progression point of the media asset at which the user input was received while the fast-forward or rewind operation continues.

Abstract: The system generates a recommendation of content for use in collaboration, allowing relevant content to be used as base content. The system identifies a content item, and retrieves reviews for the content item from one or more sources or forums. The system filters the reviews to generate a reduced set of reviews based on text of the respective reviews, profile information associated with the reviews, and reference information. A recommendation metric is determined for the content item based on the reduced set of reviews and based on the one or more recommendation criteria. The recommendation criteria specify which aspects of the content impact recommendation, and how those aspects impact recommendation. The recommendation metric indicates whether the content item is recommended as base content, to be used for generating collaborative content. The system generates a recommendation indicator indicative of the recommendation metric, and outputs the indicator for display, storage, or both.

Abstract: Systems and methods for selectively providing audio alerts via a speaker device are disclosed herein. A system plays first audio content through a speaker. A microphone captures second audio content comprising an alert. Output of the second audio content through the speaker is suppressed by using noise cancellation. The system identifies the alert within the second audio content and determines a priority level of the alert. The system determines, based on the priority level, that the alert should be reproduced, and audibly reproduces the alert via the speaker, with the first audio content or instead of the first audio content.

Abstract: Methods and systems for calculating, storing, and allowing electronic searches for metadata associated with media titles. The metadata includes scores specific to each actor and each genre of a media title, where the scores indicate the degree to which an actor's performance in that title corresponds to a particular genre. Electronic searches for particular actors' performance in a specific genre thus return more accurate results that more correctly reflect how well the actors' performances reflect that genre.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for providing subtitles for a media content item. Subtitles are obtained, using control circuitry, for the media content item. Control circuitry determines whether a character component of the subtitles should be replaced by an image component. In response to determining that the character component of the subtitles should be replaced by an image component, control circuitry selects, from memory, an image component corresponding to the character component. Control circuitry replaces the character component of the subtitles by the image component to generate modified subtitles.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for recording a portion of content of a sports game. A request to record the portion of the content, which specifies game clock time criteria, is received by user equipment. During transmission of the content, frames of the content including a game progress graphic are analyzed to determine time values representing progress points of the sports game. In response to determining that a first time value representing a first progress point of the sports game matches the game clock time criteria of the request, the user equipment begins to record the portion of the content. In response to determining that a second time value does not match the game clock time criteria of the request, the user equipment stops the recording of the portion of the content and stores the recorded portion of the content.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described herein for displaying subjects of a portion of content. Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for a media guidance application that allows users to associate input schemes with physical objects in an augmented reality environment. Specifically, the media guidance application may recognize physical objects in an augmented reality environment and allow users to identify input schemes to associate with the physical objects, wherein the input schemes are ways in which users may control presentation of media content by interacting with the physical objects.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for rearranging the order of a plurality of segments of a trailer for media content, based on a retrieved viewing history of at least one user watching the trailer. Based on the retrieved viewing history, it is determined whether any of the plurality of segments arranged in a predetermined order contain spoiler information for the at least one user. Responsive to the determination that at least one of the plurality of segments contains spoiler information, a position of the at least one segment within the trailer is rearranged to generate a rearranged order of the plurality of segments, and the trailer in the rearranged order is generated for display.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described to enable a device of a user to automatically join an ongoing conference, where the device is not currently joined to the conference. A first audio signature is generated based on voices of users already in the conference, and a second audio signature is generated based on an audio signal captured by a microphone of the device associated with the first user when the device associated with the first user was not joined to the conference. The first audio signature and the second audio signature are compared, and in response to determining that first audio signature matches the second audio signature, the device associated with the first user is joined to the conference.
