A client device receives a raw image signal of a print or display graph from a camera and in response processes the raw image to reduce noise, normalize the raw image data, and reduce pixel information. A server system receives the processed image from the client device and in response operates diagram generator logic to transform the processed image into a format in which image lines and other geometric objects are manipulable.

Abstract: An NLP analysis method based on identification of common terms is disclosed. The improved NLP analysis can separate different parts of a patent claim into discrete claim segments based on the common terms. A user interface that corresponds to a flowchart allows the user to drag and drop the claim segments to form complex relationships, which is used to generate a patent specification.

Abstract: A method of operating a machine via a display device user interface includes generating a text tree display control comprising a tree of text blocks on a first portion of a machine display interface, generating a term control comprising individual terms identified in the text tree display control on a second portion of the machine display interface, generating a navigation control comprising a visual representation of each branch of the text tree display control on a third portion of the machine display interface, operating an individual area of the term control comprising an individual term, to highlight and change all instances of the individual term in the text tree display control, and operating the navigation control to reorder branches of the text tree display control.

Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for merging sections of documents is disclosed. A selected section of a source document is parsed for cross-references with a selected section of the document identified for merging into a target document. With the cross-reference found within the selected section, a cross-referenced section is determined within the source document. The identification of a cross-reference to the cross-referenced section within the selected section may be reported to a user. This identification may additionally serve as a basis for resolving an unresolved cross-reference. Finally, the selected section may merge into the target document with resolution of unresolved cross-references.

Abstract: A system and method for automated document drafting is disclosed. The method comprises searching text in a document for a term, determining an insertion point for a definition associated with the term, and combining the definition with the text at the insertion point. The term may be a specific term type within a specialized document like a claim term in a patent document. The text structure of the definition for a term may vary from a single sentence without line breaks to a block-level element with multiple paragraphs or lists. The insertion point may vary according to the contextual needs of the definition placement. An inline definition may be next to, or even replace, the term it defines while a block-level element definition may be placed at the end of a document.

The aggregation and analysis includes a method and system for evaluating a patent or patent application and proposed claim text by examining claim related information maintained in databases as well as image related information maintained in databases. The method includes deriving unique signatures of individual claims and ascertaining scope of individual claims relative to other claims in a collection, such as claims found in a classification schema and also deriving unique characteristics from images and ascertaining the scope of similarity between the images. A signature and scope of the patent claims and images may be graphically depicted to a user using various graphic elements in a user interface.
