Abstract: A method of producing an MRI image of an object in cyclic motion by acquiring data in k-space according to the measured position of the object, and an analysis of data previously acquired. The invention also provides a magnetic resonance imaging heart monitor configured to use the method.
Abstract: A method of generating an MRI image of an object in cyclic motion by acquiring ky line data in a spaced apart fashion over ky space using a predefined order for line acquisition for each of a number of position bands. The acquisition orders for adjacent bands are circularly shifted with respect to each other.
Abstract: Conventional gradient echo sequences with relatively long echo-times visualise complex flow as signal loss, the degree and extent of which is a qualitative indicator of valvular heart disease. Since the long echo-time precludes segmentation, breath-hold imaging is not possible and acquisitions typically take 2-minutes with respiratory motion artefact being a frequent problem. In the present invention, a segmented sequence is used which generates similar degrees of signal loss to a conventional gradient echo sequence. However, the acquisition duration is reduced and breath-hold imaging is feasible, removing respiratory motion artefact.
