    Abstract: A mop is disclosed of the self-wringing type having a mop head attached to a handle on which a manually contactable sleeve is slidably positioned. The sleeve is connected to a squeeze plate via a mechanical linkage which acts to increase the mechanical advantage and, thus, the force by which the squeeze plate engages a sponge element carried by the mop head as it is rotated into engagement therewith.
