Patents Assigned to RUD-Kettenfabrik Rieger & Dietz GmbH u. Co.
  • Patent number: 4570305
Abstract: In a tensioning device for tensioning lines having a drive part and a ratchet wheel drivable thereby, a plurality of detent pawls, which are associated with the ratchet wheel, prevent an accidental reverse rotation of the ratchet wheel. The arrangement of the detent pawls is made so that only one detent pawl at a time can come into engagement with a tooth of the ratchet wheel. The reverse rotary stroke of the detent pawl is kept small by an appropriate angular association of teeth and detent pawls.

  • Patent number: 4505103
Abstract: In a chain joint which consists of two identical, essentially U-shaped joint halves (1,2), the outer legs (3) and the inner legs (4) of the joint halves are provided with holding teeth (14-16 and 17-19 respectively). The holding teeth are here designed with unequal thickness, in such a way that certain pairs of holding teeth (15, 18) absorb a greater load than the other pairs of holding teeth (14,19,16,17). Due to the chosen arrangement, those zones of the outer legs (3) which are located most closely to the shackle base (9) of the joint halves (1,2) are noticeably relieved, and a premature rupture of the chain joint is prevented in this way.

  • Patent number: 4481990
Abstract: In a tire protection and/or skid protection for vehicle tires the tread of the tire is provided with recesses, which are to receive tire protectors or skid protectors. These protectors are retained in the recesses by means of retaining strands mounted in grooves of the tire tread. The retaining strands are connected to lateral chains or parts of lateral chain networks respectively which come to bear against the side walls of the vehicle tire, there being at least one tensioning device for tensioning the lateral chains or chain networks.

  • Patent number: 4416319
Abstract: In tire chains, closures are required to lock tension-chain lines (10) in the tensioned position. A proposed closure is provided with a pull-through orifice (2) for the tension-chain line (10) and with a locking slot (3) adjacent to the pull-through orifice (2). To prevent the particular chain link (9) suspended in the locking slot (3) from working loose, the pull-through orifice (2) is equipped with an elastic insert (11) which forms at least one engagement cam projecting into the locking slot (3).

  • Patent number: 4416318
Abstract: In an anti-skid chain with an inner retaining device (1) formed by a resilient steel hoop, a tensioning strand (6) bridging end parts (4, 5) of the steel hoop is used for tensioning and is guided over the tread of the tire to the outer retaining device (3). The deflection device (13), which deflects the tensioning strand (6) out of the region of the inner retaining device (1) to the tread, is held at a distance from the end parts (4, 5) of the inner retaining device (1) by movable connecting elements, especially chain links.

  • Patent number: 4391313
Abstract: At the nodal points of the chain net in a tire chain, components (1) are provided which have at least one T-shaped section, the transverse bar (3,4) of which forms holding arms (5) for chain links (6) to be hung in; in these components, the ends, forming locking pins (9), of a closure element (8) mounted in a bore (7) in the middle of the longitudinal bar of the T-shaped section serve to secure the chain links (6) hung into the hook-shaped holding arms (5) (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 4352382
Abstract: In a tire protection chain with plate-shaped components (1) which cover the tread of the tire to be protected, and with at least one chain network (4) located on one side of the tire, the chain network is provided with overload safeguards (7, 8, 9, 14, 18, 22) which form a parting position when the chain network is subjected to extremely high loadings. The overload safeguards are here designed in such a way that no parts can be released and thrown off when the chain network is overloaded.

  • Patent number: 4321955
Abstract: A tire protector device with a covering, especially formed by plates, which exhibits at its ends next to the outside of the tire connector parts for fastening a chain net which covers the side wall of the tire. The edge of said chain net remote from the connector parts being connected to a holding strand via connection parts which are formed of tension devices which have at least one tension spring forming a store of tensional force and/or which exhibits each a connector member carried movably on the holding strand.

  • Patent number: 4320620
Abstract: In an arrangement for fastening a structural part (1) to a round steel chain by means of two webs (3,6) which overlap the long sides (19,20) of a chain link (9) and bridge the gap between said long sides (19,20) a centering member (5) is used which centering member is provided with a bore (12) and parallel side faces (10,11) having a spacing from one another which is approximately equal to the width of the gap between the long sides (19,20) of the chain link (9) partially overlapped by the webs (3,6). At least one web (3) being provided with a guide (4) which holds the centering member (5) in a prescribed position.
