Patents Assigned to Rudolph L. Lowell
  • Patent number: 4316691
Abstract: The bale handling attachment is adapted to be pivotally mounted on the pivoted vertically movable lift arms of a usual tractor three-point hitch and includes a pair of tine members that have limited downward pivotal movement, relative to the lift arms, to positions extended longitudinally of the lift arms. When the lift arms are lowered, the tine members are pivotally movable upwardly, relative to the lift arms, to horizontal ground engaged positions for following the ground contour to locations at opposite sides of the bottom portion of a bale to be handled. An upright push plate has the bottom edge thereof rideable on the upper surfaces of the tine members, and is movable from a rest position at the inner ends of the tine members, to a bale unloading position adjacent the outer ends thereof to provide for bales being stored in a double tier, one on top of the other.

  • Patent number: 4183197
Abstract: The ground rolling machine for forming large round bales of a windrowed crop material has a rotatable material pickup device movably supported on a portable frame for movement relative to the rear end of the frame from a lower material pickup position to an elevated position wherein the formed bale can pass thereunder for discharge from the machine. A continuous flexible means movable in a generally upright path longitudinally of the machine is trained about the pickup device with a lower run extended between the pickup device and a bottom roller arranged forwardly of the pickup device at a position adjacent to the ground surface. As the portable frame is advanced along a windrow, the material gathered by the pickup device is rolled forwardly and engaged by the lower run of the belt means for compaction against the ground surface between the pickup device and the bottom roller.

  • Patent number: 4076137
Abstract: The device for handling large round bales includes an elongated frame having a pair of transversely spaced longitudinal side ramps movable to a lowered position below opposite side portions of a ground supported bale and engageable with such side portions to load the bale when the frame is elevated. One side of the frame is connectable to a tractor to provide for an unobstructed bale passage means between the side ramps. Bales can be successively loaded on the ramps, and then successively unloaded while moving the bale handling device in a forward direction.

  • Patent number: 3979892
Abstract: The machine has a rotatable material pickup device movably supported on a portable frame for movement relative to the rear end of the frame to a lowered material pickup position and to an elevated position wherein a formed bale can pass thereunder. A pair of fixed vertically spaced rollers are located forwardly of the pickup device. A third roller is movable longitudinally of the frame in a path above and to opposite sides of the upper one of the rollers and is continuously yieldably urged in a direction toward the front end of the frame. A continuous belt means is initially trained about the pickup device, the bottom fixed roller and the movable roller, with the lower run of the belt means, extended between the pickup device and the bottom fixed roller, lying in a substantially horizontal plane adjacent the ground surface.
