Abstract: An apparatus for measuring dewatering in the wet end of a paper machine includes a measuring receptacle functioning at normal air pressure, in which receptacle the amount of the water of the negatively-pressurized dewatering points of the paper machine is measured by means of a pressure-difference transmitter and of a measuring weir.
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting a tail end in a fiber web machine from one structural section to another includes nozzles for guiding the tail end on the guide plate by means of an air flow such that the blown air is brought onto a guide plate shaped into a curve in such a way that the air flow of the blown air guides the tail end onto the curved guide plate by means of a bump functioning as an aerodynamic profile formed in the curved guide plate.

Abstract: A method for controlling an automatic stall-prevention of a rotation-speed-regulated centrifugal fan. A control automatics is controlled by an automation system of the process wherein, the control automatics stalling is detected from a function of the electric current, voltage and frequency going to the motor of the centrifugal fan.
Abstract: A method for reducing the water and energy consumption of a paper machine with the help of a vacuum system and optimization of web solids content. On the paper machine wire section, water is removed with the help of a hybrid vacuum system serving first the vacuum locations needing a lower vacuum level and then those requiring a higher vacuum level in such a fashion that the hybrid vacuum system removes water on different sections of the paper machine at the vacuum levels rendering the Individually maximized energy efficiency. Additionally the solids content on the wire section is optimized with fee help of an unfelted and smooth press roll adapted above the wire suction roll.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for implementing water separation in the vacuum system of a paper machine. The apparatus includes a guiding baffle structure connected to an inlet pipe and a water trap vessel, and a droplet separation cell mounted at the mouth of an outlet pipe.
Abstract: A paper machine doctor assembly includes a doctor blade and a blade holder holding the same and a support member mounted on the paper machine frame. An essential feature of the assembly is that a separate pivot mount is provided between the blade holder and the support member, the separate pivot mount enabling the blade holder and the pivot mount to be disconnected from the support member by pulling the pivot mount outwardly and away from the support member.
Abstract: Method for controlling an automatic stall-prevention of a rotation-speed-regulated centrifugal fan. What is essential in the invention is that the control automatics is controlled by means of the automation system of the process, in which control automatics stalling is detected from a function of the electric current, voltage and frequency going to the motor of the centrifugal fan.
Abstract: Method for compensating for uneven shrinkage in a paper web in the press and drying sections of a paper machine, in which there is at least one open draw. In the method, a flow guide/guides are used in the head box, by means of which the machine direction orientation tendency of the fibres is reduced in the edge areas of the web and the angle of detaching of the web from the centre roll is adjusted, by directing onto the web an air jet that is located in the cross direction and the pressure of which can be adjusted in the said direction.
Abstract: A beam construction, particularly a so-called doctor beam, for use mainly in pulp and paper mills to carry blade holders (7) intended to hold doctor blades. The beam (1) is a composite-construction hollow beam, which also includes at least one composite construction pre-tensioning rod (9, 10, 12). The construction has an essentially triangular cross-section.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for cleaning roll surfaces on a paper-making machine or the like, particularly the grooves and drilled perforations of the rolls, and/or supported fabrics and/or for improving water drainage therein. According to the method, the properties of a moving roll surface (1) and/or fabric (6), as well as their behavior during a run, are affected by means of a gas mixture (5) in a manner, wherein the flow of the gas mixture is caused to be directed substantially toward the roll surface (1), grooves (2) made on the roll shell, perforations (2) of the roll shell and/or the fabric (6) or, alternatively, at least to a close proximity of at least one of the foregoing objects. The invention also relates to an apparatus suited for implementing the method.
Abstract: The solution of the invention relates to a method and apparatus for the treatment of a paper web in a paper or cardboard machine. The essential feature of the solution of the invention is that a moving material web (1), its properties and/or its behavior are influenced by the use of a gas (2) by causing the gas (2) to flow substantially toward the material web or to its immediate vicinity.
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method of treating a material web in a paper or paperboard machine, in which method the moving web is treated with a gas, particularly with steam. At least one supplementary treatment agent is dosed into the stream of said gas and effected to travel along with said gas toward said material web. The invention also concerns an apparatus suited to implement the method.
