    Abstract: The invention concerns an acetabulum for a hip prosthesis made from a biocompatible polymer, said acetabulum being covered with a coating which comprises a first layer of titanium applied to said biocompatible polymer and which further comprises, on the first layer, a second layer of titanium or of calcium phosphate, characterized in that: the roughtness Rt of the first layer of titanium is between 40 and 500 ?m, said first layer of titanium has been applied by hot compression to said biocompatible polymer.
