Abstract: A scale on a surface of a fish body is vertically or generally vertically raised by the injection of a water from a first water injection nozzle row. The raised scale is removed from the fish body by a spray of water from an adjacent water injection nozzle row. A water pressure adjustment section is used to apply a uniform water pressure to the surface of the fish body in spite of variation in the surface of the fish body to be scaled.
