Abstract: An external rear-view mirror for a motor vehicle comprises a fairing with a rearwardly directed opening in which a reflective plate is adjustably mounted. The fairing is provided with a lateral flange for fixing of the mirror to the vehicle. An elbow-shaped duct is formed in the fairing and serves to conduct air entering an inlet in the forwardly directed wall of the fairing, out through an aperture in the fixing flange. The outlet end of the duct is terminated by an outlet fitting which is intended to be mounted in an aperture in the lateral wall of the vehicle body. This fitting is provided with a shutter device for regulating the air flow through the duct into the vehicle.

Abstract: In an internal combustion engine having an assembly consisting of a seal gasket for the valve stem and a spring support cap, the gasket is mounted on the valve guide to form a seal against the valve stem and the spring support cap is mounted externally of the gasket and has an outwardly-extending flange that rests directly on the engine cylinder head. The lower end of the gasket has an outwardly extending flange for retention by the support cap, the latter having a stepped cross section to enable it to be centered on the exterior surfaces of the gasket with an interference fit. The valve spring bears on the flange of the support cap.
