Abstract: A server system is connected to a number of remote displays for messages for broadcasting by a communication network. The audiovisual messages received from the server system are made perceptible for customers. The customers can send coded instruction signals to a first access device, located near a display, by portable customer badges, which are transmitted to the server system which then establishes a back-up communication with the customer, for example, through a portable telephone. The customer can thus simply establish communication and, when the server system has information specifically concerning the above, the information need not be transmitted over the network.
