Abstract: An improved filling for emergency cooling towers of nuclear power plants, of the type made of a grid of tubular rods in plastic material, such as PVC, has an anchoring system by which it can withstand atmospheric depressions or overpressures up to 700 Kg/m.sup.2, as required. The tubes of plastics, arranged in pairs of staggered, spaced parallel rows, are inserted to pass through two opposite walls of at least one elongated square section, perpendicular thereto and preferably of the same plastic material. The distance between the two rows is slightly less than the diameter of an auxiliary stiffering tube which is inserted between said two section walls and the two rows of tubes, transversely thereto. For each layer of filling, a particular system of fixing said square sections to the concrete structure of the tower is described to meet also the aseismatic requirements.
Abstract: A mould for the manufacture of thermally insulating semi-elbows for pipes comprises mating male and female mould parts definng therebetween an annular mould chamber extending for 360.degree. about a central axis, the mould parts being provided with holes or apertures for blowing overheated air into the mould chamber to produce a moulded shaped product from a mixture of mineral fibres and a polymerizable resin when placed in the mould chamber.
Abstract: A ring rolling mill comprising a driven working roll, a rotary mandrel serving as a counter-roll, and a containment roller carried by a pivoted arm and able to engage laterally the ring being rolled, further includes a tracer roller carried by a respective pivoted arm. The assembly formed by the tracer roller and its respective arm is a mirror image of the assembly formed by the containment roller and its respective arm across the vertical plane identified by the axes of rotation of the working roll and of the mandrel which are both vertically orientated. Means for detecting the angular position of the tracer arm and of the containment arm are connected to an electrical control circuit of an hydraulic servo valve for regulation and locking of the angular movement of the containment arm so as to maintain the containment roller in a symmetrical position with respect to the tracer roller across the vertical plane.
Abstract: Therapeutic composition of anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activity comprising as its active principle at least one component of general formula: ##STR1## in which: R is a linear or branched alkyl radical of 1-18 C atoms, or phenylalkylene in which the alkylene chain has 1-6 C atomsR.sub.1 is H, an aliphatic acyl radical of 1-6 C atoms or an aromatic acyl radicalR.sub.2 is H, an aliphatic acyl radical of 1-6 C atoms, or an aromatic acyl radical, or alternatively the radicals R.sub.2 together form an isopropylidene chainn is 0 or 1.

Abstract: A modular furniture support structure comprises first and second pluralities of arm members lying respectively in common upper and lower planes and associated by an upright. Respective ends of the arm members are connected to the uprights, at least the arm members of the second plurality being movably associated with the upright by individually inserting each arm member of the second plurality into clamping jaws effective to be movably engaged with the upright at the other end thereof.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the 3-[N-(2-mercapto-propionyl-amino-acetyl)]-tetrahydro-thiazolyl-4-carboxyli c acid and pharmaceutical compositions containing it, endowed with a marked inhibitory activity of the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE).
Abstract: The invention is related to the technical field of cardboard-making machines, and in particular it concerns a device for holding paper close against a corrugating roller in a corrugated board-making machine. The technical problem to be solved is that of providing such a device, which, while being simple and applicable to virtually all of the corrugated board-making machines, can attain an efficiency level affording a significant increase of the machine production rate and quality. The problem has been solved by providing a device which comprises suction members having a number of flattened suction ports to fit at least in part in the indentations of a corrugating roller and being rigid with holders carried slidably on bars which extend parallel to the corrugating roller, said holders being guided along said bars by locating elements made rigid with the holders and inserted into said indentations in substantially direct contact relationship with the corrugating roller.
Abstract: This piercing device for lids constituted of a supple and tearable material includes a substantially plane rigid tab on which a pivoting axis is provided, which axis divides the tab into a piercing arm and a handling arm and is fixed on the lid.In order to produce this axis, there is provided a supple tab having about the same extension as the rigid tab, the supple tab being secured by one face to the rigid tab and by the other face to the lid, at least on the side of the handling arm of the rigid tab. This device is particularly designed to be produced in association with an installation for thermo-shaping, filling and sealing thermoplastic containers.
Abstract: A fruit peeling machine comprising improved fruit peeling rollers in which at least one of each pair of rollers is provided with axially extending ribs projecting radially outwardly from the roller sufficiently to cause the fruit carried thereupon contact substantially only the outer portions of such ribs without substantial contact between the fruit and the portions of the rollers intermediate adjacent said axially extending ribs.
Abstract: A method for making reinforced eyeglass frames of plastic material comprises the steps of providing at least a plastic plate, forming therein a groove of predetermined configuration, placing a metallic reinforcing blade in the groove, sealing the groove to permanently embed the reinforcing blade therein and cutting the plate adjacent the metallic reinforcing blade along the profile of the predetermined configuration.
Abstract: Two or more containers for various products, having a generally parallelepiped shaped, are joined to form a multipack by blanks made of cardboard and the like. The package has a V folded band which is placed and glued between two adjacent containers, and handles to carry it arranged on the extensions of the V folded band. The invention also relates to a method of joining the containers so as to form the multipack.
Abstract: A rotor receives the wet material to be dried and centrifugates it outwards with conveyance air created by the same rotor. Around the rotor there develops a first scroll, which receives and conveys towards an outlet the material centrifugated by the rotor and said conveyance air. The lateral wall of said first scroll is provided with a bored grating, against which there hits the centrifugated material, which thus looses a part of the liquid that accompanies it; another part is removed by the same conveyance air, which filters partially through the grating into a second scroll that conveys it to discharge with the liquid separated and passed through the grating.
Abstract: The compound (2',4'-difluoro-4-biphenyl)oxypropionic acid and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts with a metal or an organic base are described. They exhibit high antiinflammatory and analgesic activity and do not cause gastric lesions.

Abstract: A stitching head for a stitching or embroidering machine for forming stitches fixed to the machine by a support including at least one needle which is associated with a main presser foot having a pressing heel. The stitching head has an auxiliary presser foot which is independent of the main presser foot and has a heel pierced with an opening. The auxiliary presser foot is mounted for sliding, with respect to the support, along an axis parallel to the needle, whereby its heel is disposed in the path of the downward movement of the main presser foot parallel to and spaced apart from the pressing heel of the main presser foot, while having its opening situated in the path of the needle. A helical spring is mounted for permanently urging the auxiliary presser foot toward the main presser foot.
Abstract: A household hand-device for use as a meat-presser is described in which the container member of the device forms the base of a cylindrical body which slidingly receives therein a handle member that is also cylindrical in shape and that cooperates with a return spring. By this mechanism, a plunger-type presser may be operated to deplace it within a chamber in the container. A removable bottom of the container consists of a cup-shaped member, which can be fitted over the external wall of said container to cause the cup member to get firmly engaged with a central body through a number of bayonet joints.
Abstract: A method for chlorinating the carboxylic group of .alpha.-aminoacids (e.g. hydroxyphenyl-glycine) is described wherein the aminoacid is suspended in an optionally solvate-forming solvent, treated with an excess of gaseous HCl and then with a chlorinating agent having the general formula [SO.sub.a Cl.sub.2.R.sub.1 R.sub.2 NCHO] (e.g. SO Cl.sub.2.(CH.sub.3).sub.2 NCHO).A typical compound thus obtained is the dioxane hemisolvate of D(-)2-(p-hydroxyphenyl)glycyl chloride hydrochloride.
