Abstract: An enhancement to a closure mechanism includes at least one flange that extends upwardly from an interlocking member of the closure mechanism. A line of transverse indentations is formed into the flange parallel to the interlocking member.
Abstract: A pouch has an airtight elongate closure mechanism adapted to provide a vacuum retention with an interior of the pouch over an extended period of time when sealed. The closure mechanism includes a first pair of interlocking members that resealably mate together, a second pair of interlocking members that resealably mate together, and sealing members that form an air tight seal disposed between the first and second pairs of interlocking members. The closure elements may be connected with opposing sidewalls of the pouch in a manner designed to provide differential opening and closing forces. The pouch may also include a check valve and air evacuation channels to aid in evacuating air from the interior.

Abstract: A composition for solvating one or more active agents in an aqueous solution which is suitable for dispensing as a compressed gas aerosol composition is disclosed. The composition includes at least one surfactant, at least one active agent (such as a fragrance or an insecticide), and a compressed gas propellant. The at least one surfactant is preferably present in an amount from about 0.1 wt. % to about 3 wt. %. The at least one active agent is preferably present in an amount from about 0.1 wt. % to about 2 wt. %. The compressed gas propellant is preferably present in an amount from about 0.1 wt. % to about 1 wt. %. The total surfactant weight to active agent weight ratio for the composition is preferably about 1:3 to 5:1. The composition uses a reduced amount of surfactant and active agent thereby allowing for a more efficient active agent loading and a reduced stickiness or tackiness on surfaces contacted during use.

Abstract: There is disclosed an improved stand-off for large vacuum compression storage bags made from a thermoplastic material such as polyethylene or other thermoplastic material and preferably made by extrusion. The stand-off includes a base having an aperture therein for alignment with the valve of the bag. The base further includes a plurality of ribs. The stand-off may include a variety of geometries provided that it is of sufficient length and width to cover the valve area. It may extend from one side of the bag to the other side of the bag or include variations thereof in size.

Abstract: An evaluation method for containers and food to improve storage and use includes determining particular portions of food correlated with size of storage containers for providing portions of specific calorie content; and/or evaluating types of containers and/or settings for containers to accomplish improved storage time. The method includes an electronic device having a database and the capability of modifying and entering information. Typical information is a food product, and type and size of a particular storage container. The method calculates and provides an appropriate setting for the particular container for the particular food, which enhances storage. The method may enable a consumer to identify a portion of a particular food for placement in a pre-set sized container to create a desired calorie content. The consumer can then easily identify the total amount of calories for a particular combination of portions in a meal.
Abstract: A hanger capable of supporting a bag. A first piece of the hanger includes (i) a first body, with a hanger extending upwardly from the body, (ii) a structure extending from a first side of the first body, and (iii) a cleat extending downwardly from a second side of the first body. The cleat includes a plurality of spaced apart cross members each having a neck portion and a head portion. A second piece of the hanger includes a second body that defines a slotted grove groove receptor for the cleat. The slotted groove receptor includes (i) an opening having a first portion and a second portion, with the first portion being wider than the second portion, and (ii) at least one projecting member provided adjacent to the second portion of the opening. The first piece is removably attached to the second piece with the cleat received in the slotted groove receptor.

Abstract: A container for a volatile liquid in a liquid dispensing device comprises a body and a neck extending from the body to define an opening. A retention structure is integral with the container body and is adapted to be releasably engaged with two opposing sidewalls of a housing of the dispensing device. The sidewalls are spaced apart in a first direction, and the retention structure is inhibits motion of the container in two opposing directions generally transverse to the first direction. The retention structure may be located on a side of the container body. A capillary member extends from inside the container to an exterior of the container. The volatile liquid migrates along the capillary member from the reservoir to the exterior of the container where it is evaporated from the surface of the capillary member by forced airflow generated by a motorized fan mounted in the housing.

Abstract: Certain surfactants suitable for use alone to dissolve a water-insoluble component in compositions is described for providing VOC-free compressed gas aerosol compositions. The compositions include water-insoluble component(s), a surfactant and water. The water-insoluble component(s) can be active agent(s), such as fragrance(s) and/or an insecticide(s). The surfactant is present as a single surfactant which, in the absence of a solvent, dissolves or disperses the water-insoluble component(s) and provides a homogenous blend in water which provides a stable compressed gas emulsion.
