Abstract: A bait station for crawling insects and method for presenting bait to targeted insects. The bait station includes a base and a cover fastened to the base. The base includes a bait cup with a bait cup wall. At least one side support extends upwardly above the level of the bait cup wall and extends longitudinally generally along the bait cup wall. The cover includes a shell that defines a walkway between the shell wall and the bait cup wall. The shell also includes a roof that spans the space encompassed by the shell wall, the roof being supportable by the side support. An antechamber is defined on one side by the side support and on another side by the shell wall. The floor of the antechamber is continuous with the floor of the walkway. An antechamber door in the shell wall opens into the antechamber to admit targeted insects thereto and is so located that straight line access through the antechamber door to the bait cup is blocked by the side support.

Abstract: An aqueous glass cleaning composition with optimal vertical cling and ease of use properties contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of nonionic surfactants, linear alcohols, an organic ether having the formula:R.sub.1 --O--R.sub.2wherein R.sub.1 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 linear, branched or cyclic alkyl or alkenyl optionally substituted with --OH, and R.sub.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 linear, branched or cyclic alkyl or alkenyl substituted with --OH; a synthetic polymeric agent having a high thickening efficiency; and an anti-streaking alcohol.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for imparting hydrophobicity to the surface of a substrate that is repeatedly treated with a solution containing a low level organofunctional silane. The method has particular application in toilet bowl dispensing systems, hard surface cleaners and for providing abrasion or scratch resistant coatings.

Abstract: An osmotic device that, following the imbibition water vapor, provides for the controlled release of a beneficial agent to a non-aqueous environment. The device comprises a hydrophilic formulation and a beneficial agent, surrounded by a wall. The wall is formed at least in part of a semipermeable hydrophobic microporous membrane having an average pores size between about 0.1 .mu.m and 30 .mu.m. The pores are substantially filled with a gas phase. The hydrophobic membrane is permeable to water in the vapor phase and the hydrophobic membrane is impermeable to an aqueous medium at a pressure less than about 100 Pa. The beneficial agent is released, for example, by osmotic pumping or osmotic bursting upon imbibition of sufficient water vapor into the hydrophilic formulation. The high water fluxes attendant with these vapor-permeable hydrophobic membranes facilitate the delivery of large quantities of beneficial agents without requiring large surface areas (quantities) of hydrophobic microporous membrane.
Abstract: An electrically activatable fumigating device and the method of its use. The device is adapted to be useable with vertically or horizontally oriented, wall-mounted electrical receptacles as well as receptacles mounted in horizontal countertops, all without the need for moving parts in the device. This is accomplished by the relative angle of the electrical plug to the longitudinal axis of a well contained within the body of the fumigating device from the mouth of which active ingredient is expelled by chemical reaction. Use of a modular heating assembly aids in allowing economical manufacture so that the fumigating device may be made inexpensively enough to be a single use device, with a self-disabling, single use, electrically activated heating means.

Abstract: A total release actuator for use with an aerosol can having a chime, a dome, and a valve having a valve stem. The actuator has an actuator body with a lower margin defining a skirt rim that attaches to the aerosol can and a central well having a generally horizontal well floor that has a trigger port extending therethrough. The actuator has a trigger that is hingedly attached to the actuator body, preferably at its front end to the front end of the trigger port. The trigger swings downwardly when it is depressed. The trigger extends across the valve stem and includes a downwardly open stem socket that receives the valve stem. The stem socket communicates with a discharge nozzle. The trigger, when moved downwardly, activates the valve, releasing the contents of the can through the discharge nozzle via the stem socket. A latch is attached to preferably each side of the trigger port, extending laterally under the trigger.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are stable microemulsions that contain insecticides or other insect control agents, and methods for their use. The microemulsions have above 20% hydrocarbon, yet use below 7.5% emulsifier. They can be delivered in aerosol form using a hydrocarbon propellant. A phenol sanitizer can also be included.
Abstract: This invention provides an air freshener dispenser device which consists of twin cartridges which are connected end-to-end with a flexible hinge means. The two cartridges can be folded together and incorporated in a dispensing holder as multiple refill units. Each cartridge is composed of a shallow tray which contains a volatile air freshener medium, and which has its open surface sealed with a coextensive bonded laminate of an inner vapor-permeable membrane and an outer peelable vapor-impermeable membrane. Removal of the peelable vapor-impermeable membrane sealing the two trays allows delivery of the air freshener medium as vapor into the environment at a controlled rate over an extended period of time.
Abstract: A mold removal composition useful to remove molds adhered to furnishing and walls of homes, particularly kitchen sinks and bathroom walls, ceilings, and tiles, and a mold bleaching method are provided. The mold removal composition contains peroxide, dicyandiamide, alkali metal hydroxide or alkaline-earth metal hydroxide, and water. Its pH is 8.0-13.0.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a combined toilet bowl cleaning brush and storage container system. The brush is provided with a disk shaped wall which rests on an internal sealing ledge of the container. A latching system is provided above the disk shaped wall to hold the wall in place and seal the container. There is also a slip ring which unlatches the brush.
Abstract: An insecticidally-active water-in oil-out emulsion of limited stability is disclosed. The emulsion contains at least water, a hydrocarbon solvent, an insecticidally active material, and a surfactant. When this emulsion is sprayed onto a target surface, an aqueous phase separates from an oil phase in the air or shortly after hitting a target surface.
Abstract: Disclosed are hard surface cleaners such as glass window cleaners. A silicate/hydrophobic acrylic polymer/surfactant composition is used to reduce water spotting, filming or streaking. These cleaners can also include a base and a sequestrant.

Abstract: Shaving compositions for use in the personal shaving process with a razor blade assembly include insoluble solid particulate additives. The shaving compositions may include one or more of the following: wetting agents, cleansing agents, lather producing compositions, emollients and mixtures thereof; and further includes at least one solid, insoluble particulate additive in a well dispersed suspension throughout said shaving composition. The solid additives are present in an effective amount to produce physical microscopic support for the blade of a razor blade assembly during the personal shaving process. By providing micro-support of the razor blade parallel to skin surface and above surface irregularities, the solid particulate additives provide improved razor blade glide, thereby preventing nicks and cuts, and also enhancing exfoliation of dead skin and removal of grease and oils, as well as improving hair extraction prior to cutting, thereby improving overall smoothness of the post-shaven skin.
Abstract: This invention provides an air freshener dispenser device with a nonporous wicking feature, which in an operational mode consists of (a) a first container with an upside open end, (b) a second container which is inverted and internally-nested within the first container with a downside open end and an upside closed end, and with the sidewalls of the two containers in a capillary spacing proximity, (c) a top-surface closure in the first container which is a vapor-emanating surface mechanism, such as an absorbent matrix, that is in contact with the upside closed end of the nested second container, and (d) a content of air freshener medium confined within the nested second container. The capillary spacing proximity of the container sidewalls provides a nonporous wicking mechanism for transmission of the liquid air freshener medium from the interior reservoir to the vapor-emanating surface for evaporation into the atmosphere.
Abstract: This invention provides an air freshener dispenser device which consists of (a) a transparent container which has a content of liquid air freshener medium, (b) a transparent nonporous insert sleeve which is coextensive with the container sidewall interior surface, and (c) a container closure comprising a vapor-emanating surface mechanism, such as an absorbent matrix, which is in contact with the insert sleeve. The insert sleeve surface and the sidewall interior surface are in a capillary spacing proximity which provides an upward wicking passageway for transmission of the liquid air freshener medium to the vapor-emanating surface for evaporation into the atmosphere.
