  • Patent number: 8123171
Abstract: A load assisted release system for releasably connecting cargo to a primary delivery vehicle, including a releasable connector and a bridle. The bridle includes a bridle attachment point, a slack loop, a first stage release link connecting a slack loop upper end to a slack loop lower end, and a responsive point in the bridle responsive to a releasing of the first stage release link to cause the releasable connector to release the bridle from the primary delivery vehicle once the first stage release link is released and the responsive point has moved away from the slack loop upper end the second predetermined distance. The releasable connector is configured to connect the bridle to the primary delivery vehicle, and a release force required to move the responsive point in the bridle the second predetermined distance is generated by the cargo as it moves away from the primary delivery vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6755459
Abstract: A pedestrian protection assembly for an automotive vehicle includes a bumper support beam rigidly secured to the frame of the vehicle. A bumper is supported on the support beam and spaced forwardly thereof by a resilient foam pad. The bumper includes a ramped rib engaged with the support beam for moving the bumper from a normal position to an impact position. A grill portion extends downwardly from the bumper and supports a facia chin below the bumper. A lower tubular support beam further supports the facia chin on the frame of the vehicle. The bumper moves rearwardly against the bumper support beam in response to front impact of the vehicle and the ramped rib forces the bumper downwardly to force the facia chin and lower tubular support beam downward and forward of the bumper.

  • Patent number: 4343542
Abstract: A device for mechanically moving the instantaneous image spot of a cathode ray tube at right angles to the scan direction with respect to a photographic film on which the total image is recorded by vibrating a portion of the imaging system so that the spot moves at a higher relative speed at right angles than at the normal scan direction so that the information on one scan line occupies all, or very nearly all, of the space between the scan lines as they are projected on the film.
