Abstract: A rotary closure (1) having a carrying body (5) which carries a plug-in section (6) for plugging into a plug-in opening, in which the plug-in section (6) can be arrested by a retaining element (37) which can be rendered operational or non-operational by a rotary handgrip (4) being rotated, it being possible for the rotary handgrip (4) to be blocked by a combination lock having a plurality of number disks (10). For realizing a rotary closure which is of straightforward, compact construction and which can be used to close plug-in openings of objects of different configurations, there is provided a pull member (33) which can be displaced axially by the rotary handgrip (4) being rotated and is intended for actuating the retaining element (37).

Abstract: A case lock having a locking slide (19) which is arranged in a lock housing (11) and is intended for securing and, by gripactuated displacement counter to spring force, for releasing a mating closure part (6). A grip (29) forms a supporting shoulder (40) which in a securing position, blocking the displacement of the locking slide (19), is located in front of a blocking shoulder (41) of the housing (11) and, by the grip (29) being pivoted transversely to displacement direction of the locking slide (19), is displaced into a release position.

Abstract: A permutation lock, in particular for suitcases or the like, having a plurality of number disks (12) which can be turned by rotation into the combination opening position and an operating handle upon the opening displacement of which the combination set is changed. In order to obtain a simple solution which is advantageous in use, each number disk (12) has associated with it a cam (45) which turns the number disk into a given basic position other than the combination upon displacement of the operating handle (35).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a lock, in particular for a suitcase (1) or the like, having a bolt (22) which engages into a mating lock opening (31), is blocked in its locking engagement position and engages in swinging manner into the mating lock opening (31) and thereupon enters with longitudinal tightening into the locking position; and the position. In order to achieve easy locking and a large, tightening moment exerted by the bolt, the bolt (22) has two actuating surfaces (24, 25) on both sides of a bearing shaft (20) which is displaceable over an arcuate path, one (24) of the actuating surfaces serving for the swinging displacement of the bolt (22) into the mating lock opening (31) while the other one (25) forces the longitudinal tightening by the application of actuating pressure.

Abstract: A suitcase (K) consists of two suitcase shells (1) and (2), which can be folded together, and includes castors and a pull handle (Z). The pull handle is on the narrow side (14) opposite the castors, and is swingably seated on a mounting plate (17) attached to the other suitcase shell (2). The suitcase shell (2) is adapted to be connected to the opposite suitcase shell (1) by at least one closure which extends over a fold joint (3) of the suitcase. This achieves a structurally advantageous configuration which is stable in use due to an interpenetration between hasp closure (I) and the mounting plate.

Abstract: A closure device for suitcases, briefcases, or the like, has an opening-position security formed by means of a movable securing part. In order to minimize the number of parts without impairing dependable operation of the closure device, the movable securing part is developed as a rolling body (28), and is contained between surfaces (26, 27) of the push button (13) and the push button support (9) which are positioned in wedge shape with respect to each other.

Abstract: A permutation lock comprises a housing having a rear wall and a front side closed off by a front plate. An axle extends transversely relative to a front-to-rear direction of the housing and carries rotary disks which project through slots in the front plate. A bolt is pivoted to the housing for rotation about an axis disposed parallel to the axle and situated immediately behind the front plate. The bolt extends rearwardly from the axis and has a locking portion at its rear end for engaging a hasp. Forwardly facing surfaces of the bolt engage and are cammed by the disks. The locking portion can extend through an opening in the rear wall and be shielded by a flap cut-out of the rear wall. Alternatively, the bolt can be V-shaped such that the locking portion extends from an apex of the V, the bolt is pivoted by one leg of the V, and the sensing surfaces are disposed on the other leg.

Abstract: A case comprises a pair of sections, one of which carries a hasp and the other of which carries a closure mechanism. The closure mechanism includes a hasp-receiving zone for receiving the hasp in a first direction, and a closure element for engaging and retaining the hasp in a terminal position in the hasp-receiving zone. The closure element is rotatably mounted on a pivot axle, and the pivot axle is movable in a second direction substantially parallel to the first direction. The closure element pivots on the pivot axle between a first position permitting the hasp to enter the zone, and a second position in which the hasp enters a recess in the closure element. By rotating an actuating lever, the closure element is moved to a third position retaining the hasp in a terminal position in the zone.

Abstract: A luggage lock comprises a hasp rotatably mounted to one container section, and a locking ledge carried by the other container section. A permutation locking mechanism is mounted on the hasp and comprises a plurality of manually rotatable adjusting disks, and a plurality of rotatable locking disks coupled to associated ones of the adjusting disks to be rotated thereby. Each locking disk includes a peripheral portion positioned behind the locking ledge when the locking disk is in an on-lock condition to prevent the hasp from being rotated to an open position. A code resetting mechanism enables the adjusting disks to be rotated relative to the locking disks to change the code.

Abstract: A permutation lock is mountable on one section of a case and is adapted to secure a hasp carried by another portion of the case. The lock comprises a main housing in which a permutation setting mechanism is disposed. That mechanism includes a movable spring-biased locking element which is movable between a locking position and an unlocking position. A movable spring-biased locking bolt is arranged for rotation between a locking position for securing the hasp and an unlocking position for releasing the hasp. When the locking element is in its locking position, it prevents the bolt from moving from its locking position to its unlocking position. The bolt is mounted in an ancillary housing which is connected to the main housing at a rear end thereof, such that a wall separates the bolt from the locking element.

Abstract: A closure mechanism for suitcases comprises a counter-closure part, and a closure part releasably securable to the counter-closure part. The closure part comprises a base plate and a hasp of generally U-shaped configuration including a pair of legs interconnected by a bight arranged to engage the counter-closure part. The legs define a first pivot axis about which the hasp is pivotable. A handle is pivotably mounted on the base plate for rotation toward the base plate about a second pivot axis. The handle includes first and second mutually inclined lever arms. The second lever arm carries a lift pin located below at least one of the legs of the hasp. A pair of coupling links are pivotably connected to the handle such that rotation of said handle toward a hasp-opening position causes the hasp to be rotated about the first axis by the lift pin.

Abstract: A combination lock has a plurality of shaft-mounted setting discs located behind viewing windows in a front plate of a lock housing. The setting discs have setting symbols and detent engage in individual angular positions. Locking sleeves are adjacent and cooperate with the setting discs. A spring-biased rocker has feeler projections with feeler surfaces which cooperate with engagement spaces in the locking sleeves. The rocker is adapted to engage a mating locking part of the lock. When the lock combination is properly set, the engagement spaces lie in respective positions opposite the feeler projections. The rocker comprises a U-shape including U-arms which surround the setting discs and the locking sleeves. The setting discs are mounted on respective shafts, and the rocker has an axis extending transverse to a plane through the respective shafts of the setting discs.

Abstract: A permutation lock includes a housing in which are disposed a plurality of rotary dials and a dial locking spring. The spring includes a base strip and a plurality of spring arms projecting therefrom, there being one spring arm per dial. The base strip is secured in place by means of the forces applied to the spring arms by the dials. Those forces urge the base plate firmly against a floor of the groove by swinging the locking spring about a fulcrum.

Abstract: A permutation lock comprises a housing into which is inserted a frame. The frame carries an axle on which a plurality of individually rotatable dials are mounted. The axle is joined at one end to the frame and extends longitudinally therefrom in cantilever fashion such that an opposite end of the axle is free of the frame. The dials can be inserted onto the axle over that free end, and the unit comprising the frame and the assembled dials can then be inserted into the housing.

Abstract: A combination lock adapted for securing skis, bicycles and the like, having a lock housing in which setting disks for setting a lock combination are rotatably supported and from which housing there extends fixed thereto, one end of a loop, the other, free end of which is insertable into an insertion channel in the lock housing and is engageable by the inners of the lock. In this respect within the insertion channel of the lock housing a latch is provided for catching the free end of the loop. The latch is seated, displaceable against spring biasing, on a setting-disk mounting shaft and, when the lock combination is correctly set, is disengageable, by a collar on the setting-disk mounting shaft which continues into an outwardly extending actuating button, by displacement together with the mounting shaft.

Abstract: A permutation lock with an opening actuating handpiece and with a plurality of axle-mounted discs which bear symbols, which lie behind viewing windows in a front plate of the lock housing and lock in their individual angular positions, and adjacent thereto with locking sleeves which have engagement spaces for projections of a spring-biased blocking slide which is actuatable from the outside, the engagement spaces being opposite to the direction of movement of the projections of the blocking slide when the combination is properly set. Each of the individual discs can be actuated, with the interposition of a stepping mechanism, via a push button which is adjacent to the viewing windows.

Abstract: A combination lock for suitcases, bags, or the like, is disclosed, in which a plurality of engageable blocking sleeves and corresponding number-setting dials cooperate with a latching slide member to permit the selective latching or unlatching of the device. The invention includes a separate portion of the latching slide member resiliently urged to the latched position, and which independently permits latching of the device even when the opening combination is not set on the number-setting dials. The device also facilitates resetting of the secret combination, and provides the further option of selectively blocking the latching function.

Abstract: A combination lock for baggage has blocking sleeves rotatable on a spindle with and by respective number selection discs into an opening configuration in which a locking bolt can be withdrawn. The number selection discs are retained in selected angular positions by means of spring tongues which engage in catch recesses and which are formed integrally with a box-like insert in the lock housing.
