Abstract: An attachment device for attaching a strap to a decorative article which includes a lateral support provided on the article and having a throughgoing bore, a loop portion provided on the strap, a shaft slidably mounted in the bore and passing through the loop, the shaft having an enlarged head portion on one end thereof, a spring for biasing the head portion away from the lateral support, and removable locking means for engaging the other end of the shaft to prevent withdrawal of the shaft from the bore, the shaft being movable between a first position wherein the locking means is positioned outside the attachment device for removal thereof and a second position wherein the locking device is moved by the spring to within the attachment device and is therefore substantially nonaccessible.

Abstract: A valve for a liquefied gas lighter, which includes an expander-evaporator and a flow limiter for limiting flow of the liquefied gas to the expander-evaporator, the flow limiter including a rigid member, a deformable sleeve of a gas permeable material surrounding the rigid member, an elastically deformable element in contact with the sleeve, and a compression member for compressing the elastically deformable element and deforming it radially in the direction of the sleeve and the rigid member. The rigid member includes a support member for supporting the sleeve and the expander-evaporator, the elastically deformable member is an O-ring surrounding the sleeve, and the expander-evaporator is a deformable and permeable element whose permeability is varied by movement of the rigid member, effected through an adjustment member.

Abstract: A pen point for writing with an ink, having a pen nib with two nib points separated by a slit. The surfaces of the nib points perpendicular to the slit have, over a part of their length, a film chemically inert to the ink and wettable thereby, thus forming two lips which substantially cover the slit and abut with one another when the nib is in an unflexed state. The lips extend substantially from the slit origin to the nib tips and consist of a varnish, a plastic material or a metal. The pen point is manufactured by a process wherein a pen nib having two nib points and a slit therebetween is coated with a continuous film of material, chemically inert to the ink and wettable thereby, with the film then being divided to form the two lips.

Abstract: A writing instrument is described, which includes a writing assembly, a holder for an ink reservoir joined to the writing assembly, a removable barrel secured by rotation to the holder, and a removable cap which, in the closed position, fits over and protects the writing assembly. The cap and writing assembly are rotatably integrated in both rotational directions when the cap is in the closed position, so that removal of the barrel is effected simply by rotating the barrel relative to the cap without it being necessary to remove the cap and hold the writing assembly in the hand.

Abstract: A process for producing on an object a decoration which includes two different visible materials, said process including at least one cycle of the steps of applying a masking material to at least one region of the outer surface of the object, simultaneously machining the mask and the underlying base material over at least a portion of the region, and coating the machined portion of the underlying base material with a different material.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a stratified, corrosion-resistant complex comprising a metal substrate and an outer layer made of a noble material. According to the invention the substrate is composed of an alloy having, by weight at least 45% nickel, at least 7% chromium, and at least 7% molybdenum, all the other components of the substrate representing at most 15% of the alloy.The invention is particularly useful for making the backs of watch cases.

Abstract: Watchband attachment to a wristwatch is described in which support structure having a pin mounted thereon is connected to the watch case. An end of the watchband is wrapped around the pin and includes a slot for passage of the support structure, which includes a channel between the pin and the watch case for passage of the watchband.

Abstract: A liquefied gas apparatus, in particular a gas lighter for smokers, is disclosed, utilizing a vaporizer-pressure reducer assembly including a pressure reducing device situated generally within a vaporizer. All solid materials with which the assembly is in contact have a thermal conductivity in the range 0.3 to 5 kcal/m/h/.degree. C.
