Patents Assigned to SA Marine AB
  • Patent number: 5323726
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for sweeping marine mines having a magnetic sensor by at least three electrodes (10, 11, 13) spaced apart and tractored by a vessel (12) and behind each other, the electrodes being provided with electric current from the vessel (12) for generating a magnetic field in the water surrounding the electrodes (10, 11, 13), each of the electrodes (10, 11, 13) separately being provided with electric current of individually adjustable strength. The invention is characterized by varying in time the current strength of the current fed to the electrodes between positive and negative limits with intermediate zero passages to separate the time for zero passage of the current to at least one of the electrodes (10, 11, 13) from the time for zero passage of the current to the rest of the electrodes (10, 11, 13).

  • Patent number: 5099746
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for locating and destructing submarine vehicles from airborne vehicles disposed above the water surface, wherein a device (10) suspended from said airborne vehicle comprises sensing means (14) scanning generally in the horizontal plane to discover submarine vehicles in the water is submerged in the water from the airborne vehicle, said sensing means scanning the surrounding water to detect presence of and direction to submarine vehicles in the water. The device submerged in the water comprises a propulsion mechanism (12) and an explosive charge (11) and is released from the airborne vehicle during continuous scanning of the water and detection of the presence of an direction to submarine vehicles is propelled independently through the water and steered for the submarine vehicle from the point of release.

  • Patent number: 5063850
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system for sweeping marine mines having a magnetic sensor. According to the method spaced electrodes (10, 11, 13) are towed by a vessel (12) and the electrodes (10, 11, 13) are supplied with electric current from the vessel (12) so as to set up a magnetic field in the water surrounding the electrodes. At least three electrodes are utilized in the sweeping, and each electrode is supplied with electric current individually, the strength of which can be controlled. The system comprises a power source arranged on the vessel so as to generate current for the electrodes. The power source allows individually supply and control of the current to each of the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 4911058
Abstract: A depth charge fuze includes a piston in a cylinder sealingly and displaceably guided to actuate a firing mechanism against atmospheric pressure within the cylinder on one side of the piston. The piston is operatively connected to a balancing device for balancing in axial direction. At the other side of the piston there is provided a pressure chamber connected to the surroundings by means of a number of throttling passages with valves depending on the surrounding water pressure for closing up the passages on different levels of water pressure. A shearing means retains the piston in a rest position up to a predetermined maximum pressure drop over the piston.
