Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of a modified polyalkylene terephthalate such as modified polybutylene terephthalate. In particular, the process comprises employing a titanium-containing catalyst formed by the reaction product of tetraalkyl titanate and a complexing agent comprising a phosphorous, nitrogen or boron atom. The process is used to prepare modified polyalkylene terephthalates characterized by improved hydrostability, as well as compositions derived therefrom.

Abstract: A flame-retardant polymer composition includes specific amounts of polyamide, acid-functionalized poly(phenylene ether), polyimide, and metal dialkylphosphinate. The composition, which exhibits improved flame retardancy and tensile modulus relative to known blends of poly(phenylene ether), polyamide, and polyimide, is useful for forming electrical components, such as photovoltaic junction boxes and connectors, inverter housings, automotive electrical connectors, electrical relays, and charge couplers.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are connectors for panels. In one embodiment a panel connector comprises, a connector comprising a rib-hinging geometry, wherein the rib-hinging geometry comprises living hinges, and wherein the rib-hinging geometry is capable of expanding in area. In another embodiment, a panel assembly is disclosed. The panel assembly comprises, a connector comprising a rib-hinging geometry, wherein the rib-hinging geometry comprises living hinges, a socket comprising an internal geometry, wherein the connector can be assembled to the internal geometry, and wherein the rib-hinging geometry is capable of expanding in area.
