    Abstract: The present invention refers to a device, such as a trocar intended to penetrate a body wall in endoscopic surgery to establish a passageway allowing insertion therethrough of surgical instruments, and comprising a tubular sleeve extending through the passageway and having one proximal and one distal end. The device in accordance with the invention is characterized in that the distal end is arranged to be contracted such that it assumes dimensions not exceeding the surgical orifice to allow said end to be introduced into said orifice, and thereafter to expand when applied in position such that is assumes downwards gradually increasing dimensions transversely exceeding the dimensions of the device at the place of the surgical orifice, whereby a funnel-shaped distal end is formed.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a surgical instrument to be used in certain endoscopic surgical operations, such as laparoscopic surgery, in order to fix, enclose, and extract a specimen, such as an organ or tissue. The device in accordance with the invention comprises a shank part and an entrapment part mounted on one end of the shank part. The characteristic features of the invention are that the entrapment part is provided with at least one opening for insertion of the specimen, such as an organ or tissue, said opening being expandable to an open condition and contractible to an at least partly closed condition, and in that assumes a fusiform configuration, at least when the opening is in its closed condition.
