Abstract: A safety isolation plug fitting for detecting pressurized fluid in a pipe may include a body defining an inlet adapted to be in fluid communication with the pipe, an outlet, and a passageway extending between the inlet and the outlet. A valve assembly may be seated in the passageway and movable between a closed position in which fluid communication between the inlet and the outlet is inhibited, and an open position in which a pressurized fluid in the pipe can flow between the inlet and the outlet. A flow deflector can be in fluid communication with said outlet that is configured to redirect at least a portion of the pressurized fluid exiting said outlet in direction away from a user.
