  • Patent number: 10713934
Abstract: A unified presence detection and prediction platform that is privacy aware is described. The platform is receives signals from plural sensor devices that are disposed within a premises. The platform produces profiles of entities based on detected characteristics developed from relatively inexpensive and privacy-aware sensors, i.e., non-video and non-audio sensor devices. The platform using these profiles and sensor signals from relatively inexpensive and privacy-aware sensors determines specific identification and produces historical patterns. Also described are techniques that allow users (persons), when authorized, to control remote devices/systems generally without direct interaction with such systems merely by the systems detecting and in instances predicting the specific presence of an identified individual in a location within the premises.

  • Patent number: 10636286
Abstract: Techniques for decoding communications transmitted by a remote alarm panel over a communications network to a central monitoring station (CMS) are provided. A first signal from the remote alarm panel can be received by the CMS. The CMS can determine that the first signal cannot be decoded due to errors, missing data, or corrupted data in the first signal. The remote alarm panel can retransmit the signal. The CMS can analyze the first and second signals to determine if the first signal can be reconstructed based on information provided by the second signal. The first signal can subsequently be repaired and decoded, allowing the CMS to more quickly respond to the alarm condition provided in the first signal.

  • Patent number: 10610037
Abstract: A ligature-resistant wall hook for coats, towels, or other personal items, provides ligature-proof operation by rotation of a hook tab when the applied weight is over a threshold weight and by other included features. A baseplate having a planar rear surface is mounted to a wall or door and has a rotating tab attached for receiving and retaining the personal article. A restoring-force-providing member restores the rotating tab to an upward position. The ligature-resistant wall-mountable hook also include a cover for covering the baseplate and having an aperture through which the extension projects. An exterior profile of the cover above the aperture at each side of the aperture extends outward from the baseplate and downward at an angle exceeding 30 degrees from the perpendicular direction, so that a loop formed around the rotating tab and the cover and pulled downward is drawn outward to contact the rotating tab.

The aggregation system assesses network connectivity for the building management system. For this purpose, the aggregation system includes building management control panels including modems for reporting to monitoring stations, and a customer management server (CMS). The control panels collect network connectivity information of the modems, and the CMS receives the network connectivity information. In one example, the CMS analyzes the network connectivity information to identify issues in service provider networks that provide connections between the modems of the building management control panels and the service provider networks.

  • Patent number: 10592306
Abstract: A method and system architecture for automation and alarm systems is provided. According to exemplary embodiments, relatively simple processing tasks are performed at the sensor level, with more complex processing being shifted to the gateway entity or a networked processing device. The gateway entity dynamically allocates processing resources for sensors. If a sensor detects than an event is occurring, or predicts that an event is about to occur, the sensor submits a resources allocation request and a power balancer running on the gateway entity processes the request. In response to the resources allocation request, the gateway entity allocates some processing resources to the requesting sensor and the data is processed in real-time or near-real-time by the gateway entity.

  • Patent number: 10577835
Abstract: A cable lockout assembly to tightly secure a cable that is arranged in a looped configuration with valves or switches in an ON/OFF or partial ON condition. A base includes a through passage for the cable. A rotatable piece is mated relative to the base for rotation about a central axis screw. The rotatable piece can be confined to the base by a conical washer on the central axis screw. A tool for rotating the rotatable piece engages with clamping force with the rotatable piece to fasten or unfasten the cable inserted in the through passage by fastening the rotatable piece over the base when the cable is placed in between the rotatable piece and the base. A cable manner is also employed to hold the wound cable and prevent loss of cable when the lockout is not in use.

  • Patent number: 10565856
Abstract: Alarm system arrangements (e.g., methods, apparatus, etc.) including receiving data originating from an entity located outside of a monitored premise, the data providing information detailing an impending request for temporary access of the monitored premise; and using the data to determine a predefined access plan to allow the temporary access to a predefined sub-area of the premises without triggering an alarm event, and to implement the predefined access plan at a time of receipt of an actual request for the temporary access. One example involves using the data to determine a predefined access plan which includes temporarily disabling of the alarm system's ability to recognize an alarm event with respect to activities occurring with respect to a predefined sub-area of the premises during the temporary access, and to implement the predefined access plan at a time relative to receipt of an actual request for the temporary access.

  • Patent number: 10565859
Abstract: A building management system tracks occupants of a building in which the building management system is installed and presents information about the occupants, including location information, to first responders during emergency and/or training events. Distributed devices of the building management system receive identification information broadcast by user devices of the occupants and sends the identification information to a control panel of the building management system. Location information for the occupants is generated based on the identification information received from the user devices and stored along with time and date information. This location information is then retrieved and presented to first responders, for example, by displaying a map of the building with icons representing the distributed devices and occupants, based on the location information.
