Abstract: An aircraft storage bin that includes a latch system that includes a pivot plate assembly, a mounting plate assembly and a latch button assembly. The pivot plate assembly includes a pivot plate attached to the bucket, a latch arm that is pivotally connected to the pivot plate and is pivotal between latched and unlatched positions, and a latch pawl that is pivotal between latched and unlatched positions. A latch activator is secured to the latch arm, which includes a roller member. The latch pawl includes hook and roller receiver portions. In the latched position, the roller member is received in the roller receiver portion. The mounting plate assembly includes a mounting plate to which the pivot plate is pivotally connected and a striker that is received in the hook portion when the bucket is in the closed position.

Abstract: A method for pre-forming adhesive films before applying such films to curved and/or irregular shapes inside an aircraft. Adhesive film blanks with antimicrobial properties are pre-formed using a contoured manufacturing mold. The adhesive film blank has been created to match the shape of the airline interior component to which such adhesive film will be applied. The adhesive film blank is pre-formed by placing it in the contoured manufacturing mold, applying heat for a specified time and at a specified pressure. After being pre-formed in the manufacturing mold, the pre-formed adhesive film is applied to a specific interior component. Commercial aircraft interior components may include, but are not limited to, items such as overhead stowage bins, sidewall panels, ceiling panels, monuments, lavatories, closets, handles, tray tables, galley surfaces, and any other appropriate high touch interior surfaces that benefit from application of a pre-formed adhesive film.

Abstract: Described are crossbeam assemblies for installing a furnishing to a passenger compartment. The crossbeam assemblies can include a first structural member configured to span two floor-mounted channels in a passenger compartment, and at least two attachment elements that are slidingly connected with the first structural member. The attachment elements are repositionable along the first structural member to mate with the floor-mounted channels, and lockable to retain the first structural member with respect to the two floor-mounted channels when the first structural member is attached.

Abstract: A door damper assembly that includes a housing, a damper that includes a fixed end and a movable end disposed within the housing, a carriage assembly that is movable within the housing between a closed position and an open position, a claw assembly pivotably attached to the carriage assembly, and a spring positioned to bias the carriage assembly to the closed position. The movable end of the damper is secured to the carriage assembly. The claw assembly is movable with the carriage assembly between the closed position and the open position. The claw assembly is movable relative to the carriage assembly between a non-toggle position and a toggle position. The claw assembly includes a pin receiving space defined therein that defines a claw axis that is generally vertical when the claw is in the non-toggle position and not vertical when the claw assembly is in the toggle position.

Abstract: An electro-mechanical unlocking device that includes a locking state, a holding state and an unlocking state. The unlocking device includes an arming solenoid and a holding solenoid. In the locking state the arming solenoid moves an arming assembly, which moves a crank and which moves a holding armature from a second position to a first position. In the holding state the holding solenoid is energized and the arming solenoid is de-energizing, which allows the arming armature to move from the first position to the second position. In the unlocking state the holding solenoid is de-energized, which allows the holding armature and the arming link to move from the first position to the second position. In the locking and holding states a sear blocks the path of the striker and in the unlocking state the sear does not block the path of the striker.

Abstract: A system and method for replacing or retrofitting aircraft galley monuments that include standard inserts therein with monuments that include at least some spaces for larger non-standard inserts.

Abstract: A lavatory monument assembly that includes an enclosure having front and rear walls and that defines an enclosure interior. A divider wall that extends between the front and rear walls, and a divider door that is movable between closed and opened positions. In the closed position the divider door divides the enclosure interior into first and second lavatory interiors. The divider wall includes first and second sections and the divider door includes first and second portions that meet at an obtuse angle. The divider door is pivotably attached to the divider wall. The front wall includes first and second lavatory doors that are both movable between closed and opened positions and provide access to the first and second lavatory interiors. A first toilet is positioned adjacent the rear wall in the first lavatory interior and a second toilet is positioned adjacent the rear wall in the second lavatory interior.

Abstract: An electro-mechanical unlocking device that includes a locking state, a holding state and an unlocking state. The unlocking device includes an arming solenoid and a holding solenoid. In the locking state the arming solenoid moves an arming assembly, which moves a crank and which moves a holding armature from a second position to a first position. In the holding state the holding solenoid is energized and the arming solenoid is de-energizing, which allows the arming armature to moves from the first position to the second position. Abstract: A bench seat assembly that includes a first seat that includes a seat portion and a back, a second seat that includes a seat portion and a back, and a center portion positioned between the first and second seats. The first seat is bifurcated by a first vertical plane, the second seat is bifurcated by a second vertical plane, and the center portion is bifurcated by a center vertical plane. The first seat is angled outwardly such that the first plane defines a first acute angle with the center plane and the second seat is angled outwardly such that the second plane defines a second acute angle with the center plane. The first acute angle and the second acute angle are approximately the same.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for an aircraft overhead storage bin that includes a housing having a hinge space and a hinge opening defined therein, an arm pivotably connected to the housing within the hinge space, and a dampener. The hinge opening communicates the hinge space with an exterior of the housing. The arm is pivotable between a closed position and an open position and extends through the hinge opening such that the first end of the arm is positioned outside of the housing. The dampener includes first and second ends. The first end is connected to the housing and the second end is connected to the arm. The dampener biases the arm from the closed position to the open position.

Abstract: A saloon-type door assembly that includes left and right door assemblies that each include a frame adapter having a curved inner surface with a first apex, a front portion and a rear portion, a door adapter that includes a curved outer surface with a second apex a front portion and a rear portion, a door panel associated with the door adapter, at least one front hinge strip secured along a front hinge strip path, and at least one rear hinge strip that is secured along a rear hinge strip path. The front hinge strip path extends from the front portion of the curved outer surface of the door adapter to the rear portion of the curved inner surface of the frame adapter. The rear hinge strip path extends from the rear portion of the curved outer surface of the door adapter to the front portion of the curved inner surface of the frame adapter. The door panels are movable between a front open position, a closed position and a rear open position.

Abstract: A door assembly configured to be positioned between a first compartment and a second compartment that includes a main door portion having a first decompression opening defined therein, at least a first panel portion positioned in a first position within the first decompression opening, and a decompression sensor. The first panel portion is movable linearly between the first position and a second position and is pivotable between the second position and a third position. In the third position the first compartment is in fluid communication with the second compartment via the first decompression opening.

Abstract: A countertop assembly and method of making same. The method includes obtaining at least first and second layers that each include first and second alignment openings defined therein, disposing adhesive onto the upper surface of the first layer or the bottom surface of the second layer, stacking the second layer on the first layer, aligning the first alignment openings and aligning the second alignment openings, inserting a first alignment rod through the aligned first alignment openings, inserting a second alignment rod through the aligned second alignment openings, allowing the adhesive to dry to form a countertop stack assembly, and machining the countertop stack assembly to remove at least a portion of a surface of the first layer and at least a portion of a surface of the second layer to form a finished countertop assembly.
