Abstract: The present invention provides an aircraft seat unit comprising a main seat, and a companion seat, the main seat and the companion seat facing each other, wherein the companion seat comprises a seat pan, providing a seat pan surface, and a moveable seat element, the moveable seat element being moveable in relation to the seat pan between a stowed position, in which the companion seat provides an additional support surface for a main passenger in the main seat, and a deployed position, in which the moveable seat element provides a backrest surface for a companion passenger in the companion seat. The invention also provides a method of deploying and a method of stowing a companion seat.

Abstract: Described is an aircraft suite having an aircraft seat for use by a passenger, the aircraft suite also having a controller, for controlling a number of output states of the aircraft suite, the controller having a logic condition receiver for receiving a logic condition input, and distance measurement equipment for measuring a distance between a first location within the suite and a second location within the suite, and providing a distance input to a distance receiver of the controller, wherein, in use, the controller controls at least one of the output states of the aircraft suite based upon both the logic condition input and the distance input. The invention also provides a method of controlling an environment within an aircraft suite.

Abstract: Described are examples of a seating arrangement for an aircraft with a first seat in a first accommodation space and a second seat in a second accommodation space, wherein the first and second accommodation spaces are configured to share a common floor space at a floor level of the aircraft. One seating arrangement includes a divider screen located between the first and second accommodation spaces, moveable, by sliding in a direction along the common floor space, between a stowed position permitting passenger egress between the first and second accommodation spaces across the common floor space, and a deployed position preventing passenger egress between the first and second accommodation spaces across the common floor space.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tool 1 for curing a composite component, the tool comprising a lay-up surface 8 for laying-up layers of an uncured composite component, a cover assembly 9 for moving in relation to the lay-up surface to cover a layed-up uncured composite component on the lay-up surface, the cover assembly comprising a sealable cover for sealing around the uncured composite component on the lay-up surface to form a sealed zone, and a vacuum port 25 for providing a vacuum to the sealed zone, wherein the tool further comprises at least one heating element 15, 53 within the sealed zone for heating the uncured composite component. The invention also provides a method of manufacturing a composite component and a composite component. The composite component may form at least part of a piece of aircraft furniture, such as an aircraft seat shell.

Abstract: An aircraft passenger seat comprising a seat pan, a back rest, and a leg rest is provided. The back rest is moveable between an upright position and a reclined position in which the back rest is substantially parallel with a deployed position of the seat pan. The back rest can also be fixed in at least one intermediate position between the upright position and the reclined position. The leg rest is moveable between a retracted position in which the leg rest is substantially perpendicular to the deployed position of the seat pan and an extended position in which it is positioned to support the legs of a passenger. The seat pan is moveable between a deployed position in which the seat pan occupies a first space and wherein a passenger can sit on the seat pan, and a stowed position in which the seat pan is moved out of the first space such that a passenger can stand in the first space.

Abstract: The invention provides a kit of parts for assembling an aircraft seat unit, comprising a frame with a slot, a panel for forming a shell of the aircraft seat unit and defining a footprint of the aircraft seat unit, having a first end and a second opposite end, the first end configured to be slid in and out of the frame slot to provide a variable dimension from the frame to second opposite end of the panel, and a fixing mechanism for fixing the panel within the frame slot, in a configuration providing a desired value of aircraft seat unit variable dimension. The invention also provides a plurality of such kits of parts, an aircraft seat unit and an aircraft cabin comprising a plurality of such aircraft seat units or made from such kit of parts, and methods of installing an aircraft seat unit.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a mounting structure and arrangement. More particularly, but not exclusively, this invention concerns a mounting structure and arrangement for mounting aircraft furniture in an aircraft. The mounting structure comprises a first connection assembly configured for engagement with a first mounting track; and an associated first support. The first support is configured to abut the first mounting track at a location fore or aft of the first connection assembly. The provision of the support may reduce the number of connection assemblies required to properly secure an item of aircraft furniture in an aircraft cabin using the mounting structure.

Each seating unit has a bed position having a head end and a foot end, wherein at least a height-limited portion of the foot end is less than a delineating height that separates a lower portion of the aisle from a upper portion of the aisle. The seating units in the adjacent columns are longitudinally aligned and positioned adjacent one another, as well as being angled with respect to each other. The height-limited portion of the foot ends in the aisle column is positioned adjacent the aisle, and the height-limited portion of the foot ends in the wall column is positioned within a concave portion of the exterior wall.
