  • Patent number: 5530414
Abstract: A switching accessory is provided for use with motor starters. In a first embodiment the accessory may be utilized as a motor starter by-pass. In another embodiment the accessory may be utilized as a motor starter isolator. The switching accessory utilizes lever action and fulcrum points to open and close contacts as desired. More particularly, the switching accessory includes a pull bar contactor arrangement, an actuator mechanism, a fulcrum shaft and an operator lever. The pull bar contactor arrangement may be axially displaceable between pairs of bus bars to permit electrical connections between the bus bars of each pair. The pull bar may be movable between a first position in which the contacts of the bus bars of each pair are isolated from one another and a second position in which the contacts of the bus bars of each pair are in electrical contact via contact elements on the pull bar.

  • Patent number: 4953830
Abstract: A railing, fence or like barrier structure formed from a plurality of lightweight, high-strength plastic or like material components, different ones of which are capable of being either injected molded or extrusion molded wherein the plurality of components are connected to one another and at least some of which incorporate a high-strength material reinforcement member formed on the interior thereof during its molding formation. A connecting assembly or alternately a locking assembly serves to interconnect and/or lock other structural components of the railing assembly to form a structure with a high degree of structural integrity and yet maintain a substantially lightweight construction.

  • Patent number: 4892292
Abstract: A security railing formed from plastics material pipe which is lightweight, low cost, and non-corrosive. The top railing and preferably the posts of the security railing are formed of double pipe construction comprising a first pipe and a second pipe inside the first pipe, the second pipe having an outside diameter related to the inside diameter of the first pipe. The first pipe is of plastics material and the second pipe preferably also is of plastics material. A lower railing utilizes a plastic pipe having the same outside diameter as the laminated top railing. T connectors and cross connectors are used at the joints between the upper and lower railings and the posts, and these T connectors and cross connectors are of the same outer dimension as the first pipe to give the railing a smooth contour.
