Abstract: An anaesthetic gas capture rig (10) for extracting anaesthetic gas from an anaesthesia machine is provided. The rig comprises or can be connected to suction means for drawing gas exhausted from a machine to the rig. The rig is pneumatically decoupled from the machine so that the rig cannot apply vacuum pressure to the machine.
Abstract: An anaesthetic halocarbon capture system is provided. The system includes a pressure-intolerant sleeve containing filter material for capturing one or more types of anaesthetic halocarbon prior to supercritical fluid extraction, and a pressure-tolerant housing into which the sleeve can be inserted so as to permit exposure of the sleeve contents to pressures required for supercritical fluid extraction.
Abstract: A method for capturing halocarbon from a gas, the method comprising processing gas containing halocarbon with material which is undamaged by exposure to supercritical fluid. A method for reclaiming halocarbon from a material, the method comprising exposing the material to a supercritical fluid. A module for processing a gas containing halocarbon, the module comprising material for capturing halocarbon from a gas, wherein the module is arranged to withstand supercritical fluid.
