Abstract: The invention relates to a gas filter structure for filtering particulate-laden gases, of the honeycomb type and comprising an assembly of longitudinal adjacent channels of mutually parallel axes separated by porous filtering walls, said channels being alternately blocked off at one or the other of the ends of the structure so as to define inlet channels and outlet channels for the gas to be filtered and so as to force said gas to pass through the porous walls separating the inlet and outlet channels, said structure being characterized in that the inlet and outlet channels share between them at least one wall of constant average thickness d over the entire length of the filter structure, in that the inlet or outlet channels share between them at least one wall of constant average thickness e over the entire length of the filter structure and in that the e/d ratio is strictly greater than 1.

  • Publication number: 20100158774
Abstract: Catalytic filter comprising a porous matrix consisting of an inorganic material, in the form of grains that are interconnected so as to provide cavities between them, such that the open porosity is between 30 and 60% and the median pore diameter is between 5 and 40 ?m, said filter being characterized in that the grains and possibly the grain boundaries of the inorganic material are covered over at least part of their surface with a texturizing material, said texturizing consisting of irregularities having dimensions of between 10 nm and 5 microns and in that a catalytic coating at least partially coats the texturizing material and optionally, at least partially, the grains of the inorganic material.

  • Publication number: 20090301047
Abstract: A method for selecting a filtering structure for a gas laden with particulates, said structure comprising a filtering part formed from a porous ceramic material and comprising at least one, and preferably a plurality, of porous walls, said method being characterized in that, starting from a first image of the surface of the wall, a processing operation is carried out on said first image comprising a morphological erosion by a structuring element in such a manner as to obtain a second characteristic image of the regularity and of the uniformity of the microstructure of said wall. Silicon carbide filtering structure obtained by application of said method.
