Abstract: A process for manufacturing a multilayer element with a transparent surface electrode (2), an electroluminescent lighting film (3) and a second surface electrode (5) is characterized by the following steps: to form the transparent surface electrode, a thin-film multilayer system (2), comprising at least an electrically conducting part film (2.1) and thereafter a dielectric part film (2.2), is applied to a substrate (1); an EL lighting film (3) and at least the second surface electrode (5) are applied one after the other on the thin-film multilayer system (2) by screen printing; and the two surface electrodes (2.1, 5) are respectively connected to an electrical connection element (7) for connection to the voltage source.
