Patents Assigned to Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics
  • Patent number: 8104796
Abstract: A pipe joint and can include a first pipe having a flange and a second pipe having a flange. A first sleeve can be installed within the first pipe and a second sleeve can be installed within the second pipe. Moreover, an annular ring can be disposed between the flange of the first pipe and the flange of the second pipe. The annular ring is configured to engage the first sleeve and the second sleeve and create a sealing engagement between the annular ring, the first sleeve and the second sleeve when a compressive force is applied to the first sleeve, the second sleeve, or a combination thereof along a longitudinal axis of the pipe assembly.

  • Publication number: 20090180720
Abstract: A play-free plain bearing arrangement with a defined preset torque includes a plain bearing, wherein the plain bearing comprises a bearing housing and a bearing sleeve inserted into the bearing housing, wherein the bearing sleeve and the bearing housing are open axially. The play-free plain bearing arrangement also includes a shaft as a bearing mate of the bearing sleeve. The plain bearing arrangement is characterised in that the shaft having an oversize is inserted in the bearing sleeve in such a way that the bearing sleeve and the bearing housing expand.

  • Patent number: 7278350
Abstract: A flexible composite with integral flights is provided and methods for making the same. The composite is made from, for example, silicone rubber, urethane rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene or other polymer. The composites are useful for making conveyor belts for use in high temperature food processing, and particularly for contact toasters. The conveyor belts are an improvement over the prior art in that they prevent slippage of the articles conveyed, may be manufactured at low cost, and are relatively easy to clean.

  • Publication number: 20040161571
Abstract: A thermal interface material (A) transfers heat from a heat source (12), such as a microprocessor, to a heat sink (14) for maintaining the microprocessor at a safe operating temperature. The interface material includes thermally conductive filler particles dispersed in a phase change material. The phase change material softens and flows at the operating temperature of the heat source, thereby providing good thermal contact with uneven surfaces of the heat source and heat sink, without excessive exudation and loss of the interface material. The phase change material includes a polymer component, such as an elastomer, and a melting point component, which adjusts the softening temperature of the phase change material to the operating temperature of the heat source.

  • Patent number: 6692036
Abstract: Fittings of this invention comprise a body having a substantially hollow transport passage extending between a body first end and a body second end. The fitting body ends are adapted to accommodate attachment with respective fluid handling devices. The fitting has a hexagonal outside surface portion for grasping and rotating the fitting. An interlocking attachment member is disposed along an outside surface of the fitting body and is adapted to form an interlocking attachment with a complementary member of a fluid handling device when the fitting is connected thereto. The interlocking attachment member comprises a plurality of ratchet teeth that are configured to register with a complementary fluid handling device member. The fitting body first end includes a tongue that is configured to provide an interference fit within a groove in a fluid handling device opening to provide a leak-tight seal between the fitting the fluid handling device.

  • Patent number: 6349858
Abstract: A dispense head assembly comprise a housing, and a body having a fluid inlet and outlet attached to the housing. A piston is disposed within the body and housing and is attached at one end to an actuating handle. A poppet/diaphragm is attached to the opposite piston end and includes an imperforate head, a thin-walled sleeve that extends axially away from the head, and a tongue that defines a terminal edge of the sleeve and that forms a leak-tight interference seal with the body. The poppet/diaphragm sleeve is rolled between opposite piston and assembly wall surfaces to provide open- and closed-flow poppet/diaphragm movement. A dip tube adapter is releasibly attached to the housing and body. A tongue and groove seal arrangement is used to form a leak-tight interference seal therebetween. A dip tube is attached to the second adapter body end to provide fluid pick-up from a fluid container to the dispense head assembly.
