Abstract: A method of manufacturing a three-dimensional lace material is disclosed. The method includes a fabric-knitting step for knitting a planar lace fabric including an ornamental lace portion, a scallop portion continuously adjacent the ornamental lace portion and a waste-fabric portion on the opposite side to the ornamental lace portion across the scallop portion; a three-dimensional forming step for forming the planar lace fabric obtained by the material-knitting step into a predetermined three-dimensional shape by setting the fabric to a three-dimensional forming device with fixing the fabric to the device at the waste-fabric portion thereof and placing the scallop portion at an end of the three-dimensional shape to be formed; and an eliminating step for eliminating the waste-fabric portion along the scallop portion from the three-dimensional lace fabric obtained by the three-dimensional forming step, thereby to obtain the three-dimensional lace material.

Abstract: A cup product for use in a brassier and a brassier or like product using the cup product are disclosed. The cup product has a cup for covering a breast, a scallop portion provided at a peripheral edge of the cup, and an ornamental lace portion provided over a surface of the cup. The scallop portion and the ornamental lace portion are provided as one continuous lace fabric, and this lace fabric is formed into a three-dimensional shape by means of molding with the scallop portion being placed at an end of the three-dimensional shape.

Abstract: A lace knit includes a plurality of wales formed in a vertical direction of the lace knit by chain-stitched warp yarns; a plurality of courses formed continuously by needle loops of the warp yarns disposed in a lateral direction of the lace knit; and a plurality of sinker loops formed in the needle loops of the wales so as to form a ground weave in the form of a net allowing insertion of insertion yarns such as weft yarns and/or pattern-forming yarns therein. The ground weave includes a basic-gauge portion knitted under a basic gauge and an extended-gauge portion knitted under an extended-gauge sparser than the basic gauge. A method of knitting such lace knit is also disclosed.

Abstract: A warp knit includes a plurality of warp yarns chain-stitched to form a plurality of wales for forming a ground weave and at least one pattern-forming yarn knitted into the ground weave, with the pattern-forming yarn having a course-wise knitted portion extending between the wales. In this warp knit, a thickness-increasing overlay yarn is knitted to be laid over the back side of the pattern-forming yarn at least over a portion of the course-wise knitted portion thereof. The thickness-increasing overlay yam has a greater elasticity than the pattern-forming yarn.
