  • Patent number: 8776451
Abstract: An extendible structure which includes an elongated extendible member having elasticity, and a storage part that serves to store the extendible member by winding it up, wherein a tip end of the extendible member can be extended from the storage part in a one-dimensional manner, so that an extendible part thus extended becomes a hollow tubular structure. The extendible member is composed of three divided extendible members so that the extendible part of the hollow tubular structure is divided into three parts, and the individual divided extendible members are constructed such that their tip end portions are joined with one another, and at the same time, their base end portions are wound around individual storage parts, respectively, independently from each other. Surface fasteners are each provided on a side of each of the divided extendible members.

  • Patent number: 6291738
Abstract: This invention provides holding and supporting appliances used in the fields of orthopedics, rehabilitation and sports and support members thereof that are light in weight, thin, rigid and durable and breathe well, and, furthermore, support members made of reinforced plastic triaxial woven fabrics impregnated with resin. The support members according to this invention include a piece formed of reinforced plastic triaxial woven fabrics. Preferably, the formed piece should have openings representing 5 to 33 percent of the overall area thereof, and a flexural rigidity of 10 to 1×104 kg·mm2 per unit width and a basis weight (weight per unit area) of 50 to 1000 g/m2. Holding and supporting appliances are formed by using the support members described above.

  • Patent number: 6154185
Abstract: An antenna-oriented reflecting material using triaxial woven fabric is usable for frequency bands as high as 20-60 GHz. A reflecting material 1 usable for the high frequency bands is manufactured without spoiling advantages of triaxial woven fabric 2 by controlling mainly a construction n, a volume resistivity .rho. and a mass per unit length .eta. of the triaxial woven fabric. Particularly the setting of each parameter is determined by a composite model reflection ratio .GAMMA. obtained from a sum of a first reflection ratio .GAMMA.'s based on a surface resistance of the triaxial woven fabric and a second reflection ratio .GAMMA.p based on opening, holes of the triaxial woven fabric. It is preferable that a construction be 5-28 yards/in a mass per unit length .eta. be 10-460 tex g/1000 m, and a volume resistivity .rho. be 0.7 to 2.0.times.10.sup.-3 .OMEGA..multidot.cm.
