Abstract: A modified chlorinated polypropylene which has superior properties is obtained by the reaction of a chlorinated polypropylene having a molecular weight in the range of from 5,000 to 500,000 with a polyurethane having a molecular weight in the range of from 600 to 200,000. The modified chlorinated polypropylene exhibits excellent adhesion to various kinds of base film and a satisfactory performance with respect to such after-treatments as lamination, boiling and retort processes, and therefore is useful as a binder resin for printing ink or other coating compositions.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for efficiently and economically producing printed matter having a high degree of gloss, rub-resistance, water-resistance and resistance to contamination. In this method and apparatus, a web-fed printed matter or a web-fed printing paper is coated with a coating agent for roll press working and subjected to hot roll press working while in the state of a web.

Abstract: A pigment dispersing agent comprising the reaction product of a polyester having a free carboxyl group, of which the acid value is in the range of from 10 to 60, with an amine compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are alkylene radicals which can be the same or different, each containing from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, and R.sub.3 is a radical of the formula CH.sub.3 -- or C.sub.2 H.sub.5 --, wherein said reaction being conducted in the range of from 0.8 to 1.0 of equivalent molar ratio of the amino groups having active hydrogen of said amine compound to the free carboxyl groups of said polyester.Application of the dispersing agent to nonaqueous paint or printing inks enables pigments to be dispersed in the vehicle at higher concentrations with low viscosity than in the prior art, and the dispersions thus obtained exhibit high coloring power and excellent storage stability.
Abstract: A method and image processing system is for reconstruction of an input image. The method for reconstruction of an input image includes a step of inputting image data (for example, densities) of at least two pixels nearest to a position of an additional pixel to be added to the input image and those of neighbor pixels located on extension lines of segments drawn between the position of the additional pixel and that of each of the nearest pixels of which the image data were inputted, and a step of estimating the value of the image data of the additional pixel on the basis of the inputted image data of at least two pair of the nearest and corresponding neighbor pixels by using an improved and simple algorithm which is newly proposed herein and called "linear extrapolation and average method".
