    Abstract: A driving method of a surface discharge plasma display panel includes a resetting step, an addressing step and a sustained discharging step. In the resetting step, a first voltage is applied between the scan electrodes and the address electrodes to accumulate wall charges in the respective pixel by a facing discharge, and the wall-charges accumulated by the facing discharge are removed. In the addressing step, a second voltage is applied between a corresponding scan electrodes and selected address electrodes so that a facing discharge occurs, to form wall-charges in the selected pixels. In the sustained discharging step, a third alternating-current voltage is applied between the scan electrodes and the common electrodes so that a surface discharge occurs in the selected pixels.

The FED includes a spacer having a structure in which a multi-focusing electrode layer, an electron beam amplifying layer and a getter layer are stacked between an anode and a cathode, or a spacer having a structure in which a first electrode layer, a first insulating layer, a second electrode layer, a second insulating layer, a third electrode layer, a third insulating layer and a fourth electrode layer are sequentially stacked. Thus, electron beams can be easily focused by the multi-focusing electrode of the spacer, and high luminance can be realized at low current due to electron beam amplification of the electron amplifying apparatus. Also, the diamond tip is used as an electron emission means, to thereby obtain a low driving voltage, stability at a high temperature, and high thermal conductivity.

    Abstract: A lithium composite oxide (LiaNi(1−x−y)CoxMyO2, where M is at least one metal atom selected from the group consisting of Al, Ca, Mg and B, a=0.97˜1.05, x=0.1˜0.3, and y=0˜0.05), prepared by a method including the steps of: (a) coprecipitating a Ni—Co composite hydroxide by adding an aqueous ammonia solution as a complexing agent, and an alkaline solution as a pH-adjusting agent, to an aqueous mixed solution containing a cobalt salt and a nickel salt; (b) adding lithium hydroxide to the composite hydroxide and thermally treating the mixture at 280˜420° C.; and (c) thermally treating the resultant of the step (b) at 650˜750° C. The average particle diameter of the lithium composite oxide decreases, or the tap density thereof increases, depending on the coprecipitation time. When the lithium composite oxide is used as a positive electrode active material, a lithium ion secondary cell having a high capacity can be obtained.
