Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for learning based device management. In one example, the method includes identifying functions available on a mobile device and determining a usage pattern for each of the functions. A determination is made as to whether each of the functions is to be monitored based on the function's usage pattern, and a device management profile is generated that defines monitoring parameters for each of the functions to be monitored.
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a signal input unit through which an image signal is input, the image signal comprising a synchronization signal and an active signal; an adjustment signal generating unit that generates an adjustment signal; a signal processing unit that receives the adjustment signal and adjusts the image signal based on the received adjustment signal; and a controller which analyzes the input signal and controls the adjustment signal generating unit to change characteristics of the adjustment signal if the adjustment signal does not lie within a blanking interval between the synchronization signal and the active signal. With this configuration, even when an image signal having a reduced blanking interval between the synchronization signal and the active signal is input, the adjustment signal can be generated within the blanking interval of the image signal, not within the active signal interval.
Abstract: A method includes separating resource elements from multiple code blocks into different groups, and decoding the code bits of the resource elements within each group without waiting for a completed reception of a transport block to start decoding. A method includes separating coded bits from multiple code blocks into different groups, and decoding the code blocks containing coded bits within each group. A first CRC is attached to the transport block and a second CRC is attached to at least one code block from the transport block. An improved channel interleaver design method including mapping from coded bits of different code blocks to modulation symbols, and mapping from modulation symbols to time, frequency, and spatial resources, to make sure each code block to get roughly the same level of protection.

Abstract: Disclosed are a novel 8-hydroxyquinoline acetamide compound, an 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide and use thereof. More specifically, disclosed are a novel 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide compound suitable for use as a selective chemodosimeter that shows considerably high detection sensitivity to mercury ions, an 8-hydroxyquinoline acetamide compound as an intermediate thereof, preparation thereof, and a chemodosimeter for mercury ion-selective detection, the chemodosimeter comprising the 8-hydroxyquinoline thioamide compound. The compounds as disclosed herein exhibit considerably effective fluorescence specificity of an off-on type, detect a micromole of mercury ions from chemical and biological aqueous systems, and allow 100% desulfurization within 5 minutes, thus being considerably useful in the chemical industry.

Abstract: A surface plasmon polariton modulator capable of locally varying a physical property of a dielectric material to control a surface plasmon polariton. The surface plasmon polariton modulator includes a dielectric layer, including first and second dielectric portions, which is interposed between two metal layers. The second dielectric portion has a refractive index which varies with an electric field, a magnetic field, heat, a sound wave, or a chemical and/or biological operation applied thereto. Abstract: An instrument-playing portable communication device is provided. The device includes an instrument-playing key unit having one or more keys, provided on a body of the instrument-playing portable communication device. When a user selects a chord of a selected instrument by pressing at least one of the one or more keys, the instrument-playing key unit converts the at least one key press into a first signal. The device also includes a sensor unit mounted in the body, for sensing a motion of a user. When the user presses the at least one of the one or more keys and moves in a location near the sensor unit, the sensor unit senses a motion of the user and converts the motion into a second signal. Abstract: An RF transmitter filter for use in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The filter includes a waveform detector to detect a power level of a transmitted data stream on a symbol-by-symbol basis. The filter also includes a processor to select a combination of filter parameter values according to the power level. The RF transmitter filter selects and adjusts filter parameters (i.e., number of taps or filter length, word length, coefficient quantization, sampling rate, tap delay, sampling bits, etc.) based on signal waveform characteristics. The adjustments limit the transmitted bandwidth and allow transmitted signals to meet an emission mask, while still enabling a receiver to recover the correct sample values of transmitted symbols. The filter further includes a reconfigurable digital filter to filter the transmitted data stream according to the combination of filter parameters.
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for recognizing the position of a mobile robot. The apparatus includes an image capturing unit which is loaded into a mobile robot and captures an image; an illuminance determining unit which determines illuminance at a position where an image is to be captured; a light-emitting unit which emits light toward the position; a light-emitting control unit which controls the light-emitting unit according to the determined illuminance; a driving control unit which controls the speed of the mobile robot according to the determined illuminance; and a position recognizing unit which recognizes the position of the mobile robot by comparing a pre-stored image to the captured image.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for configuring femtocell devices for performing handoffs in a communication system. The communication system is provided with a plurality of macrocell base stations, a femtocell device, a wireless softswitch and a mobile node. In the communication system, each macrocell base station serves a macro cell, and the femtocell device serves a femto cell and is disposed in one of the plurality of macro cells. The wireless softswitch is communicatively connected with the plurality of macrocell base stations and the femtocell device, and stores geographic coverage area information for each of the plurality of macrocell base stations. The mobile node is originally disposed within the femto cell and moves out of the femto cell. The mobile node transmits a registration message to the femtocell device. The femtocell device forwards the registration message and geographical location information for the femtocell device to the wireless softswitch.
