    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for recording location information of broadcasting signals, and a broadcasting signal receiving device and transmitting device adapting the method. The method for recording location information of a broadcasting signal comprises the steps of extracting location information of an I-picture by removing header information of a Transport Stream, and synthesizing the extracted location information into a null packet of the Transport Stream. According to the present invention, it is possible to know the location information of the I-picture which records the entire picture in the broadcasting signals and accordingly reproduce only the I-picture of the corresponding location easily. In accordance with the broadcasting signal receiving apparatus, it is easy to perform the operations of fast forwarding, rewinding and trick modes.

When constructing an optical system with the VCSEL including the VCSEL portion, the adjusting portion, and the micro-lens, there is no need for a separate condensing lens and focusing position adjusting element. In addition, optical alignment structure is simple with increased freedom in arranging elements, and the number of parts required is sharply reduced.

A print order is input, malfunctioning nozzles on a printhead are identified, and, in the case malfunctioning nozzles are present, compensation printing occurs to optimize print quality. The detecting of malfunctioning nozzles includes printing a test pattern, scanning the test pattern, comparing the scanned test pattern to an ideal test pattern, and then identifying the locations of malfunctioning nozzles. In the case that only one nozzle is malfunctioning, the number of nozzles used to scan a line of print is reduced by two so that compensation printing can correct two lines of print with one single swath.

    Abstract: Serial data is exchanged in a serial communication circuit comprising an encoder for producing a first pulse signal having a programmable pulse duration which is representative of a data value. A decoder restores the data value from the first pulse signal received from the encoder. A first data line is connected between an output terminal of the encoder and an input terminal of the decoder. A controller programs the pulse duration at the encoder based on the data value, and restores the data value at the decoder based on the first pulse signal duration. A complementary pulse signal is simultaneously transmitted with the first pulse signal on a second data line. Since the serial data transmitted has a duration-encoded single-pulse format, EMI prevention is maximized, and transmission is therefore relatively noise-free. A simple data verification and error detection is also achieved by comparing the received first data signal and complementary data signal.

A sidewall spacer is formed on both sidewalls of the top via hole.

Each sector also has a data field. The read element is aligned with the B servo burst, and data is written in a data field of a first sector of one of the tracks. An A burst and a C burst located in a following sector of one of the tracks is read to provide an A burst amplitude value and a C burst amplitude value. A characteristic of the read element based on the A burst amplitude value and the C burst amplitude value is then determined.
