Existing Automatic Measurement Accounting (AMA) capabilities resident in the Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) Service Control Point (SCP) of the wireline section are leveraged, thereby avoiding development of an independent billing capability in the wireless section. Problems associated with the allocation and exchange of the wireless call identifier are avoided.
