  • Patent number: 7237348
Abstract: An elongate spring pad for a sheet ironing machine includes an elongate backing strip, coil springs, and top plates. The backing strip encircles a roller of a sheet ironing machine. The coil springs are longitudinally spaced along the backing strip. Each coil spring has a connecting portion at a first end engaging the backing strip and a fixing portion at a second, opposite end that transverses the coil spring. Each of the top plates is provided on the second end of the respective coil spring. Positioning means on each top plate engage the respective coil spring. A claw projects outwardly from the top plate for releasably engaging a felt cover. Each top plate contacts an adjacent top plate so that there are no spaces therebetween.

  • Patent number: 7140487
Abstract: A conveyor belt comprises one or more elongate pieces of material joined together to form an endless belt. The or each joint extends across the belt at an angle non-perpendicular to the direction of intended travel of the belt. Adjoining ends of the belt are connected together by a plurality of generally U-shaped gripping elements. The free ends of each gripping element grip an adjoining end of the belt and the closed ends of the gripping elements protrude beyond the respective adjoining end of the belt. A hinge pin extends through the protruding parts of the gripping elements of each of the adjoining ends of each belt to connect the adjoining ends of the belt together.

  • Patent number: 7087137
Abstract: A welding device comprising a body having a cylindrical portion and an integral gripping portion extending away from the cylindrical portion. A welding head is provided at one end of the cylindrical portion. The welding head is angularly displaceable relative to the cylindrical portion about the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical portion and supports an ultrasonic transducer and an anvil co-operable with the transducer. The transducer and anvil are relatively movable towards one another to pinch an object to be welded therebetween. A pulling device operable by a trigger is provided for pulling the transducer and the anvil towards one another and a battery pack is releasably attached to the gripping portion.

  • Patent number: 5653049
Abstract: A resilient pad for resiliently supporting a felt cover on a rotatable drum of a flat sheet ironing machine, comprises a plurality of helically wound coil springs having an inner end adjacent to the drum and an outer end adjacent to the felt cover, a backing strip windable about the drum and a plurality of plate-like elements connected respectively to outer ends of the coil springs. The inner end of each coil spring is supported by the backing strip with the coil springs spaced apart along the longitudinal extent of the backing strip. Each coil spring has two helically wound portions joined at the outer end of the spring by a transverse portion which is connected to a respective plate-like element, by crimping lugs on the element to the transverse portion or by welding, and each plate-like element has one or more claws on its outer surface for making catching contact with the felt cover to ensure that, in use, the felt cover rotates with the drum.
