    Abstract: A scroll compressor has a housing, in which are provided fixed and movable scrolls for cooperatively compressing working fluid containing lubricating oil, an oil chamber storing the oil separated from the fluid, and a drive chamber in which a revolving unit for revolving the movable scroll is arranged. The fixed scroll has a communication passage for supplying the stored oil to the drive chamber. The passage has an oil outlet opening in a drive chamber-side end face of the fixed scroll and located in a position which is periodically covered with a base plate of the movable scroll when the movable scroll revolves. A cut is formed in the base plate of the movable scroll and prolongs a time period over which the outlet is opened. The compressor is suited for use in a refrigeration circuit of an air-conditioning system for a vehicle.

    Abstract: The invention provides a beverage extractor permitting extraction of a beverage of high quality irrespective of its type. The extractor is provided with a first extraction channel for letting the beverage extracted in a cylinder flow into the extraction pipe via beverage outlet holes of a second piston having a prescribed first bore and a second extraction channel via a communication hole having a prescribed second bore, which is smaller in bore than the outlet holes, for letting the beverage extracted in the cylinder flow into the extraction pipe, and the first and second extraction channels are switched over between each other by the movement of the second piston. This makes it possible to select an extraction channel suitable for the type of beverage, whether regular coffee or espresso coffee, and accordingly to extract a beverage of high quality irrespective of the type of beverage.

    Abstract: An air conditioning system for a vehicle includes a first refrigeration cycle, an expander, and a second refrigeration cycle.     Abstract: A pair of engagement members to be detachably engaged with a bill recognition device is provided on a unit body of a reader-writer unit, and the bill recognition device is attached to the unit body by engagement with the engagement members. Therefore, the bill recognition device can be attached/detached without using any screws. For example, when the bill recognition device is replaced, operations for detaching and attaching the bill recognition device can be performed advantageously easily. In the replacement process, the bill recognition device can be attached or detached while the unit body is in the state of being mounted on an outer door. Thus, the drawback of the unit body being dismounted from the outer door when the screws are removed as in the conventional art is eliminated and the attachment/detachment operations are not complicated.
