  • Publication number: 20140117127
Abstract: A method for detecting tramp material in an inertia cone crusher having an outer crushing shell and an inner crushing shell is provided. The inner crushing shell is supported on a crushing head. The crushing head is rotatably connected to an unbalance bushing. The unbalance bushing has an unbalance weight for tilting the unbalance bushing when it is rotated, such that the crushing head will gyrate about a gyration axis, the inner crushing shell thereby approaching the outer crushing shell for crushing material in the crushing chamber formed therebetween. The method includes the steps of measuring at least one of a position and a motion of the crushing head; obtaining, based on the measurement, a gyration value; comparing the gyration value with a gyration reference value; and determining, based on the comparison, whether to issue a tramp material warning signal indicating the presence of tramp material in the crusher.

  • Publication number: 20140117740
Abstract: A profile of a cutting tip includes a convex portion extending from a cutting end to an inflection point located at an axial and radial distance from the cutting end. A concave portion extends from the inflection point to a point at a greater radial and axial distance from the cutting end. The profiles of the generally concave portion and the generally convex portion have a first linear portion defined by a portion of a first line extending from a first point at a first radial position to a second point at a second radial position and axially spaced from the first point. A second linear portion is defined by a portion of a second line extending from a third point to a fourth point at the second radial position and at an axial distance from the second point corresponding to about half a length of the first line.

  • Patent number: 8708609
Abstract: Gear milling cutter with replaceable milling inserts mounted on flank sides. Some are root inserts placed in tangentially spaced-apart positions along the periphery of the basic body; others are flank inserts tangentially spaced-apart and in ring formation radially inside the root inserts. Sweep areas of radially separated inserts overlap in a ring-shaped overlapping zone by radially inner ends of root inserts being situated nearer the center axis than radially outer ends of the flank insert next inside. A part edge of the cutting edge, located between the straight main edge and one of the ends of the insert is shorter than the main edge and deviates from a straight reference line in the extension of the main edge at a deviation angle of at most 10°. Cutting edges of root inserts overlap cutting edges of flank inserts in a point of intersection situated between end points of the part edges.

  • Patent number: 8707590
Abstract: A lock for an attachment system that connects a ground engaging tool to a bucket lip. The lock is disposed, in use, between lug of a lip of the bucket and the ground engaging tool. The lock has a body, a force applying member and a force receiving member. Application of force by the force applying member causes the force receiving member to protrude from a first side of the body and to engage the lug. Relative hardnesses of the lug, the body, the force applying member and the force receiving member are such that application of a sufficiently large force via the lug to the protruding portion of the force receiving member preferentially deforms the protruding portion of the force receiving member ahead of deformation of the body or the force applying member as a preferred lock failure mode.
