  • Patent number: 7621388
Abstract: A roll and a roll spring, where spring is in the form of a ring-shaped body manufactured of an elastic material having two axially spaced-apart ends. In a front end of the spring body, at least one first slot opens which extends towards the rear end, without reaching the same, and which separates two forward-facing laminae. In the rear end, at least one second slot opens which extends towards the front end without reaching the same, and which separates two rearward-facing laminae. At each one of the two ends of the spring body, an end surface of a lamina is axially displaced in relation to the end surface of an adjacent lamina. When the spring is clamped between two rings of a roll shaft included in the roll, the protruding end surfaces are subjected to compressive forces that generate a labyrinth-shaped train of spring forces between the end surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20090285646
Abstract: A milling insert, including an upperside, an underside, and a reference plane parallel to the upperside and the underside. A plurality of indexable cutting edges are formed along a peripheral borderline in transitions between at least the upperside and a number of clearance surfaces. Each cutting edge includes a chip-removing main edge and a surface-wiping secondary edge, the secondary edge forming an obtuse angle with the main edge as viewed in planar view from the upperside. The main edge, from a first end of the main edge adjacent to the secondary edge, first declines toward the underside of the milling insert and then, from a lowest part, rises toward an opposite second end of the main edge. The secondary edge is inclined at an angle (?) in relation to the reference plane as viewed perpendicularly to the clearance surface of the secondary edge, such that a first end of the secondary edge connected to the main edge is situated on a lower level than the opposite, second end of the secondary edge.

  • Patent number: 7611311
Abstract: A cutting tool, and a loose top therefore, includes two parts detachably connected to each other via a threaded joint in which co-operating male and female threads are included in the form of helicoidal ridges. The profile shape of each helicoidal ridge is defined by a top and two flanks, which delimit a helicoidal groove having a bottom. The first flank is inclined in relation to a center axis of the tool at a first angle that is smaller than a second angle of the second flank in relation to the center axis. Accordingly, the thread ridge is reinforced in comparison with thread ridges having a symmetrical profile shape, whereby larger tensile forces than compressive forces can be applied to the threaded joint while avoiding damage to the thread ridges.
