Abstract: Thread-like capillary tubes are formed by spinning molten glass material through an annular orifice, blowing a gas centrally into the tube issuing from the orifice, drawing the gas filled tube away from the orifice and controlling the flow rate and pressure of the gas and the drawing rate to reduce the tubes to capillary size with a lumen, an external diameter, and a wall thickness of controlled dimensions.
