    Abstract: A cam arrangement comprises a solid cam mounted on an input shaft for rotation and having a plurality of ribs formed on a circumferential surface thereof, the solid cam being formed to a non-circular configuration at an outer periphery of the ribs, the ribs including a linear portion and an inclined portion. A spider is mounted at an end of an output shaft which extends perpendicularly to the input shaft and is disposed for both rotation and reciprocation a plurality of cam followers are mounted on the spider and each is guided between adjacent pairs of the ribs. The spider is pressed resiliently against outer surfaces of the ribs.

    Abstract: An overload release clutch includes a bearing for receiving the load of a drive flange on a cylindrical boss. The bearing has a first row of ball bearings disposed between an upper edge of the boss and a first curved flange and a second row of ball bearings disposed between a lower edge of the boss and a second curved flange. The curved flanges are formed on the inner most portion of the drive flange, the first one facing the upper edge and the second one facing the lower edge.

    Abstract: A roll feed apparatus has first and second rolls designed for cooperation with each other in clamping therebetween a sheet material such as to intermittently feed the same. The apparatus also has a release/brake device having first and second braking members which temporarily fix the sheet when the sheet is unclamped by the first and second rolls. The apparatus further has an adjusting device including a pivot member adapted to move, when it pivots, the first roll towards and away from the second roll thereby adjusting the gap between two rolls. The release/brake device has a braking position adjusting arm extending in the direction of feed of the sheet and pivotally secured to the pivot member at a position adjacent the path of feed, and an adjusting plate pivotally secured to the pivot member. The second braking member is provided on one end of the braking position adjusting arm.

    Abstract: A roll feed apparatus for intermittently feeding a sheet-like blank material to successive work stations has a pair of sector rolls adapted to be driven by an oscillation driving device in synchronism with each other such as to clamp the material therebetween and feed the same intermittently in one direction, by virtue of a driving connection device which drivingly connects the rolls to the oscillation driving device. The apparatus further has a roll release device adapted to move the rolls away from each other when the rolls are oscillated in the directions counter to the feeding directions thereby releasing the sheet-like blank material from the clamping force.

    Abstract: A roll feed apparatus suited for use in automatic manufacturing machines, in feeding a sheet-like material intermittently. The apparatus comprises a main sector roll and a sub-sector roll adapted to cooperate with each other in clamping therebetween the sheet-like material and in feeding the same. The main sector roll and the sub-sector roll are operatively connected to each other through sector gears. The main sector roll is operatively connected to a rocker shaft which is adapted to be rocked in rotational direction so that the main sector roll and, hence, the sub-sector roll are made to rock as the rocker shaft makes a rocking rotation. A connection device is provided for operatively connecting the main sector roll to the rocker shaft in such a manner that the rocking angle of the main sector roll for a given rocking angle of the rocker shaft is changeable.

    Abstract: A roll feed apparatus comprises a main roll (4) and a subroll (8) adapted to cooperate with the main roll to feed a flat workpiece (7) in a clamped state on a step-by-step basis. The main roll is mounted on an output shaft (2) of an intermittent motion mechanism (3) to be intermittently rotated in one direction. The subroll has a rotation-transmission roll (8a) disposed at one axial end of the subroll and is rigidly mounted on a subroll shaft (6) which is rotatably supported in a roll housing (5a) through an externally rotatable eccentric flange (10), and a workpiece-engaging roll (8b) supported by the rotation-transmission roll and surrounding the subroll shaft. The rotation-transmission roll has a peripheral surface which makes rolling contact with the main roll for transmitting rotation, and is movable toward and away from the main roll to adjust contact pressure between the main roll and the rotation-transmission roll upon rotation of the eccentric flange.

The interlocking unit includes a first swing arm secured to the turret shaft, a slide member supported in the first arm slidably in the axial direction thereof, a second swing arm secured to the output shaft, a connecting member pivotally connecting the slide member to the second swing arm, and adjusting means provided in association with the slide member for varying the ratio of a swing angle of the second swing member to that of the first swing arm by adjusting the position of the slide member relative to the first arm.
