Patents Assigned to Sant' Andrea Novara Officine Meccaniche e Fonderie
  • Patent number: 4669260
Abstract: A vertically-arranged rubbing finisher has a plurality of rubbing units each traversed vertically by a pair of slubbings which are directed to respective winding devices for winding on respective spools to form single-slubbing bobbins. The two winding devices receiving a respective pair of slubbings are disposed on opposite sides of a vertical, longitudinal plane of symmetry through the rubbing unit, the winding devices on each respective side forming a group including drive rollers for the respective spools arranged for rotation about a common horizontal axis. Each spool is pivotable away from its drive roller as its bobbin is formed on arms which, when the bobbin is completed, pivot further, downwardly, to deposit the bobbin on a conveyor belt for transfer from the machine before returning upwardly to collect a new, empty spool for filling from a supply device.

  • Patent number: 4593643
Abstract: Apparatus for the application of marks to tubes used for the winding of textiles for the identification of the composition, quality and/or origin of the textiles. Device includes a flighted elevator conveyor adapted to take tubes from the bottom of a container and to transfer them to an inking assembly with marking tips which mark the ends of the tubes. Rotary brushes clean the tube ends prior to marking.

  • Patent number: 4564979
Abstract: A combing machine for textile fibres has a "gill" for combing a sliver of fibres and means for tearing successive tufts from the sliver of fibres as the tufts are combed, and partially superimposing the torn tufts on each other so as to form a continuous combed web. The tearing and superimposition is effected by contra-rotating tearing rollers mounted on support shafts which are rotatably supported at their ends by a pivotable carriage; each support shaft is also rotatably supported intermediate its ends, and carries two tearing rollers side by side and cooperating with a corresponding pair of tearing rollers mounted side by side on the contra-rotating support shaft.

  • Patent number: 4558491
Abstract: A combing machine for textile fibres has a gill for combing a sliver of fibres, and at least two contrarotating tearing rollers for tearing successive tufts from the sliver of fibres as these are combed, the torn tufts being partially superimposed on each other to form a continuous combed web which is delivered to a conveyor belt. The tearing rollers are in direct contact with each other and are located upstream of the conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 4554709
Abstract: In a chain-driven comb head for drawing frames, of the type including means for directing compressed air jets at the combs, these means comprise ducts for supplying compressed air to each needle field defined by the combs and slots for generating, from the supplied air, at least one flat jet of compressed air directed outwardly in a predetermined direction which does not intersect the zone of treatment of the sliver between the combs. During movement of the combs, the flat jet of compressed air flows successively over the surfaces of the combs to clean them. The needle-carrying bars making up the combs are rotatably mounted about their axes and have one end out of alignment, the head structure including at least two tracks engaged by the non-aligned ends and shaped so as to cause the combs to orient themselves in a predetermined direction when they pass in front of the flat jet.

  • Patent number: 4085900
Abstract: A bobbin-changing device for a textile winding machine in which an elongate thread or strip of textile fibres such as spun yarn, sliver or roving is wound on successive bobbins, the device being for replacing a fully wound bobbin with an empty bobbin and including means for allowing the fully wound bobbin to drop down from its winding position and a frictional member which is engaged by the periphery of the fully wound bobbin at a position roughly diametrically opposed to the position at which the thread or strip reaches the periphery of the fully wound bobbin as the bobbin drops down from its winding position, for accelerating in the wind-on direction the position at which the thread or strip reaches the periphery of the fully wound bobbin and thereby breaking the thread or strip.

  • Patent number: 4041573
Abstract: A machine for combing textile fibers prior to spinning, which operates to regroup the fibers in accordance with their length, is described. The machine operates to pull off tufts of fibers from a web or card sliver, to perform a preliminary combing of the fibers, and to deposit the tufts onto a conveyor with the fibers extending transverse the direction of advance and the ends of the fibers which were gripped in order to pull the tuft out of the web all aligned along the direction of advance of the conveyor. Subsequently the conveyor carries the tufts past a plurality of withdrawing devices which are successively nearer the conveyor and which operate to pull off first the longer fibers and subsequently successively shorter fibers. The fibers are subjected to a further combing operation as they are withdrawn from the conveyor.
