Patent number: 4921174Abstract: A food processor includes a main body with a graspable handle. A drive motor in the main body drives a shaft that projects up into a container and a rotor on the shaft processes food in the vessel. A cover removably disposed on the container is rotatable between an unlocked and a lockable position. An electric switch includes a switch lever pivotable up and down, and upon downward pivoting of the switch lever, the electric contacts to the motor are closed. A projection from the switch lever projects toward the body. A regulating member movable laterally of the body is contacted by the projection on the switch lever which prevents the switch lever from moving down. An operating piece projecting from the cover engages the regulating member and moves it out of the path of the projection. The operating piece on the cover has a cutout defined in it which receives the projection on the switch lever and enables the switch lever to be pivoted down to close the contacts.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1989Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventors: Yoshihisa Okada, Yoshihiro Enya

Patent number: 4921175Abstract: A food processor includes a main body with a graspable handle. A base plate is disposed in the main body. The base plate has a peripheral wall for defining a chamber. The peripheral wall has a discharge cutout along one circumferential part. A cover is removably placed over the base plate. A rotary blade supported on a driven shaft projects into the chamber between the cover and the base plate. An electric switch for the electric drive motor to the shaft includes a switch lever that pivots toward the main body to close contacts to the drive motor. A bar normally blocks for pivoting of the switch lever until the cover is placed on the base plate. The cover pushes the bar away from blocking the switch lever for enabling the switch lever to pivot to contact the contacts for activating the drive motor.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 1989Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventors: Yoshihisa Okada, Yoshihiro Enya

Patent number: 4734985Abstract: A battery powered can opener includes a cutter assembly that is pivotally mounted at the front of a housing for a motor, batteries for powering same, a speed reducing gear train and a switch for controlling energization of the motor. The clutch assembly is movable to a position for retaining the opener on the bead of a can whose top is to be severed. After mounting of the opener on a can, a manually operated switch control remote from the cutter is operated to start the motor which acts through the gear train to drive the opener around the bead. As the motor starts, a wedging action between the can cover and the blade of the cutter assembly causes the latter to pierce the can top, and continued energization of the motor results in the blade cutting the top along the bead. Cutting results in the production of a reaction force that acts through the cutter assembly and a latch to hold the motor energizing switch closed after the switch control is released.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 1987Date of Patent: April 5, 1988Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventor: Osamu Ozaki

Patent number: 4587450Abstract: A rotor for a synchronous motor including a bar magnet with a cross-section that is circular, square, square with beveled corners, etc., is inside the hollow central part of a plastic resin support which has been molded over the magnet, and which has windows formed in the support providing access to the magnet. The motor shaft projects from the ends of the support, and may either be molded with the support or may be inserted into the ends of the support, and a drive gear may be formed in one end of the shaft. The invention avoids the need for forming holes in the magnet for the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 1984Date of Patent: May 6, 1986Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventor: Osamu Ozaki

Patent number: 4527671Abstract: A rotary direction regulating device for a synchronous electric motor. A plate is disposed on the rotor shaft which rotates with the rotor. A stopper is supported for axial movement in an eccentric axial hole through the plate. At opposite axial sides of the stopper, respective generally parallel, inclined cam surfaces move the stopper axially as the rotor rotates. The stopper is guided by the inclined surfaces to move axially and to permit the rotor and the regulating plate to rotate in the correct direction of rotation. One of the cam surfaces has a sharply inclined stopper wall oriented generally parallel to the axis of the rotor and the opposite cam surface shifts the stopper to abut the stopper wall upon reverse rotation of the rotor and the plate. That abutment prevents rotor reverse rotation. The stopper is supported for swinging with respect to the plate in its axial motion. The cooperating cam surfaces are opposite each other and are in cam plates disposed at opposite sides of the stopper.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 1984Date of Patent: July 9, 1985Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventor: Osamu Ozaki

Patent number: 4326545Abstract: The disclosure concerns a hair curling iron having a heatable cylinder about which the hair is wound, and the heatable cylinder having holes through it, through which steam may be emitted. A heating element is positioned inside the heat cylinder for heating the cylinder. A water wetted wick is shiftable into engagement with the heating means for generating steam to be emitted through the holes in the heat cylinder. Longitudinally extending rows of radially outwardly extending protrusions are annularly arrayed around and are detachably connected directly to the heat cylinder for protecting a user against inadvertent contact with the heated cylinder surface. An electric terminal arrangement in the curling iron permits rotation of the curling iron to wind the hair on the heat cylinder without twisting the electric power cord.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1979Date of Patent: April 27, 1982Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventors: Akio Motegi, Takao Saitoh

Patent number: 4282911Abstract: A combined hanger and bag. The hanger is substantially triangular and comprises congruent parallel frame members with snap extensions on one member and corresponding openings on the other member so that the two members may be snapped together. A hook is provided for suspending the hanger by one of the frame members. A bag having a corresponding triangular opening is provided with reinforcements having bag openings which may be engaged by the extensions of the frame member which carries the snap extensions. The reinforcing members are also provided with longitudinal beads which are received in recesses located inwardly of the extension. The lower run of the hanger receives a reinforcement that extends directly upwardly from the bag. The other two reinforcements are folded over the outside of the frame which carries the snap extensions so that the openings engage the snap extensions and the longitudinal reinforcement bead engages the recess inwardly of the snap extensions.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1980Date of Patent: August 11, 1981Assignee: Sanyei CorporationInventor: Kojiro Sumitomo
