Abstract: A method for recycling of packaging material is disclosed. The packaging material comprises a multilayer material (10) comprising a metal layer (30) and at least one polymer layer (20, 40). The method comprises placing the packaging material in a vat (310) comprising a separation fluid (330) to produce a mixture of metal shreds from the metal layer (30), plastic shreds from the polymer layer (20, 40) and residual components. The separation fluid comprises a mixture comprising a mixture of water, a short-chained carboxylic acid, phosphoric acid and an alkali metal hydroxide solution.
Abstract: A method for recycling of packaging material (300) is disclosed. The packaging material (300) comprises a multiple layer material (10) comprising a metal layer (50), at least one polymer layer (20, 40, 60) and, optionally, a paperboard layer (30). The method comprises placing the residual waste in a vat (360) comprising a separation fluid (375) to produce a mixture of metal shreds from the metal layer (50), plastic shreds from the polymer layer (20, 40, 60) and residual components. The separation fluid comprises a mixture comprising at least one swelling agent and at least one carboxylic acid.

Abstract: A separating fluid, method and use for separating multilayer systems, especially photovoltaic modules, for the purpose of recycling, which allow the separation of multilayer systems. Especially photovoltaic modules, in comparatively simple manner in terms of the processes used, in as environmentally friendly a manner as possible, at high recycling rates. For this purpose, the separating fluid is a nanoscale dispersion or a precursor thereof.
