Abstract: A teacher-controlled learning environment is disclosed that allows for remotely-located students to view 3D manipulation of objects associated with a lesson. Teacher-controlled viewing of 3D content (particularly relevant for STEM applications) is enabled across multiple devices that are networked via a specific platform, allowing for remote manipulation of 3D objects (as controlled by the teacher/host), where the student wears stereoscopic 3D glasses and the teacher's remote software “takes over” the student's device to provide the actual 3D object manipulation.

  • Publication number: 20260134784
Abstract: A lesson creator module is provided at a network-based learning platform to allow for authorized teachers to access a library of existing lesson modules stored at the platform and build a customized lesson (or series of lessons) with their own audio. The lesson creator is configured to capture a teacher's audio presentation of that lesson from the teacher's microphone in a manner that the audio remains in sync with the selected lesson module. Preferably, any other keystrokes, mouse movements, manipulation of 3D objects, etc., as, performed by the teacher are also transmitted to the lesson creator and stored along with the audio track.

  • Publication number: 20250202886
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an authentication system that may be used to control a student's access to an on-line instructional system in a reliable manner. The system is based upon each subscribed student having a unique hardware verification component that interacts with verification codes displayed on their computer monitor to permit access to the on-line instructional system in the first instance, as well as to individual lesson modules forming the instructional system. The actual program/lesson module attempting to be accessed is not “live” until verification by a combination of the hardware component, installed software, and on-line system is established. If the proper verification code is not displayed, or a particular hardware verification component cannot properly decode the displayed image, the student is denied access.

  • Publication number: 20230260417
Abstract: An apparatus in the form of a learning platform is configured as a network element that may be accessed by a student, who interacts with various elements at the learning platform, including a knowledge base and an associated analytics module, to receive instruction across a wide range of subject matter areas. A 3D configuration system located at the learning platform interacts with the knowledge base and analytics module to create the various 3D projections as incorporated within each learning module to enhance a student's comprehension of a given topic.

  • Patent number: 11611738
Abstract: A 2D/3D conversion interface component is configured to override the video processing capabilities associated with a conventional 2D display, re-formatting an incoming 3D video stream into a version compatible with a 2D display while preserving the 3D-type of presentation. An incoming “side-by-side” (SBS) 3D video stream is re-formatted into a “frame sequential” (serialized) format that appears as a conventional video stream input to the 2D display. The interface component also generates as an output a timing signal (synchronized with the converted frames) that is transmitted to a 3D viewing device (e.g., glasses). Therefore, as along as the 3D viewing device remains synchronized with the sequence of frames shown on the 2D display, the user will actually be viewing an interactive 3D video.

  • Publication number: 20200409478
Abstract: A computer mouse for providing commands to create both two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) movements and manipulations of objects as projected on a 3D display. The computer mouse comprises an input device including conventional button/wheel and trackball controllers and a mode switch for toggling between 2D operation and 3D operation. The computer mouse also includes an external processor responsive to the command signals and mode signal from the input device, and functions to translate the received signals into cursor actions on an associated 3D display.
