    Abstract: Methods of combining seeds that have been differentially treated with various single or blended insecticides and/or other additives for low risk attract-and-kill or push-pull strategies for the management of insect pests such as wireworms are disclosed. A combination of seeds for controlling insect pests is also disclosed. The combination comprises a First seed treated with one or more insecticides; and a Second seed for attracting and/or directing soil insect pests to the First seed. The invention describes various combinations of First and Second seeds, where pest insects are directed to ultimately end up at the First seeds that have been treated with a lethal insecticide, and the Second seeds act in various ways to increase control efficacy by attracting and/or directing the pest insects to the First seeds.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an isolated biocontrol agent, which is a strain of Pyricularia setariae. The present invention also relates to a biocontrol composition comprising at least one fungal biocontrol agent, which is a strain of Pyricularia setariae. Examples of the biocontrol agent of the present invention include Pyricularia setariae 94-409A (IDAC 190701-1), Pyricularia setariae 01-069A (IDAC 290102-01), and Pyricularia setariae 01-071A (IDAC 290102-02). Preferably, the biocontrol composition comprises an acceptable medium such as a liquid culture medium or a solid culture medium. The biocontrol agent or biocontrol composition may be used to suppress the growth of a weeds such as green foxtail (Setaria viridis [L.] Beauv.).
