  • Publication number: 20060142800
Abstract: An infant teething and feeding apparatus having a child-proof locking mechanism, reducing the likelihood of the assembled apparatus becoming inadvertently or prematurely disassembled by a young child and, in turn, preventing an associated food containing member from becoming separated from the overall device, absent intervention by an adult, and thus becoming a choking hazard to the child. A handle assembly of the apparatus includes a cooling insert for chilling, or maintaining the chilled condition, of food contained within the food containing member. A cap, or cover is provided to assist in maintaining the freshness of food contained within the apparatus, as well as to prevent the food contained within the apparatus from soiling clothing or other objects while the apparatus is being transported.

  • Patent number: 6905507
Abstract: A teething pacifier comprising a pacifier guard having two opposing sides, a nipple extending outwardly from one side of the pacifier guard and a handle associated with the opposite side of the pacifier guard. The handle includes a first teething material and a second teething material having a substantially similar hardness as that of the first teething material. The second teething material is molded over the first teething material to create a varied teething surface on the handle for infant teething thereon. The first teething material may further include an overmold enhancing surface such as a keyway extending around the handle, at least one flat face extending around the handle and/or at least one recess extending around the circumference of the handle at select points on the handle.

  • Patent number: 6447536
Abstract: A teething pacifier comprising a pacifier guard having two opposing sides, a nipple and a teething handle. The nipple extends from one side of the pacifier guard, while a connection hub is associated with the opposing side. The teething handle is pivotally connected to the hub, and further includes a first teething material and a second teething material which is at least partially distinct from the first teething material. In one construction, the first teething material is a harder, more rigid material which comprises the handle substrate, and the second teething material is a softer, more compressive material which is overmolded onto the first teething material substrate. In another construction, the softer second teething material forms the handle substrate, and the more rigid first teething material is overmolded onto the second teething material substrate.

  • Patent number: 6209133
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a teething bib having a front side, a back side, an upper portion, a bottom portion, an outer periphery having an outer peripheral edge and teething material operably associated with at least a portion of the outer periphery of the bib. The teething material preferably emanates from the outer peripheral edge of the bib, and may extend around the entire outer periphery. The teething material may also includes gaps. The bib includes an opening for an infant's head, and may also include a fastening member for folding the bottom of the bib into a pocket for the collection of food or liquid during feeding.

  • Patent number: 5480211
Abstract: A highchair apparatus for attachment to an elevated member, such as a table or the like. At least a portion of a frame supporting the highchair apparatus engages an upper surface of the elevated member. A clamping member, pivotally attached to the frame pivot housing at a first pivot, engages a lower surface of the elevated member and clamps the highchair apparatus to the elevated member. A cam member, pivotally attached to the frame pivot housing at a second pivot, restrainably secures the highchair apparatus to the elevated member, by engaging the clamping arm upon movement of the cam member from a substantially nonengaging position to a substantially engaging position, causing the clamping member to securely engage the lower surface of the elevated member, and further serving to lock the clamping member in secure engagement with the lower surface of the elevated member.

  • Patent number: 5451095
Abstract: A juvenile seat cradle bouncer apparatus of the type having a base portion and a back support member operably attached to the base portion. The back support member is pivotally positionable relative to the base portion between a substantially collapsed orientation and one or more upright angular orientations. Retention members are associated with the base portion for releasably retaining the back support member in a desired one of the upright angular orientations. A foot support member is operably associated with the back support member, and is pivotally attached to the base portion.

  • Patent number: 5415456
Abstract: A collapsible baby chair apparatus for attachment to an elevated member having a top and bottom surface, such as a tabletop or projecting countertop. The apparatus includes a chair member having a seat portion and a back portion, and a pair of frame members which are operably, pivotally attached to each other in a scissors-like orientation. The seat and back portions may be secured in an opened, seating, position and then releasably foldable to a closed position of reduced profile upon release of a biased locking mechanism. The two frame members each include at least two free ends which are pivotally spread apart and/or closed toward each other by manipulation of the frame members in a scissors-like manner--so as to facilitate positioning of the respective free ends adjacent the top and bottom surfaces of the elevated member.

  • Patent number: 5161263
Abstract: An articulable training toilet apparatus for use in cooperation with a supporting toilet seat of a conventional toilet, and which can alternatively be used as a stand alone toilet on independent ground and table surfaces. A seat having an outer peripheral edge and an inner peripheral edge which defines a waste passage aperture, is operably attached to one or more leg members. The leg members are positionable between a fully deployed position, which serve to elevate the seat above a surface so as to enable usage of the appratus as a stand alone toilet, and a fully retracted position which enables the apparatus to be used in operable cooperation with a supporting toilet seat of a conventional toilet. Restraining members are attached to the leg members so as to facilitate aligned and secured cooperation with the conventional supporting toilet seat, when the apparatus is used in association therewith.

  • Patent number: 5150504
Abstract: A universal tether apparatus for releasably attaching juvenile articles, such as pacifiers, teething devices, rattles and toys, to the clothing of an infant. The apparatus includes releasably affixable attachment members capable of alternatively coupling to and releasing from, both male post-type and female loop-type elements of juvenile articles. A flexible strap attached to a post attachment end and a second attachemnt member facilitates universal securement of either end of the strap to an apparatus body, or to a juvenile article--depending on whether the juvenile article has a post-type or loop-type grasping/attachment element.

  • Patent number: 4739527
Abstract: A portable foldable playpen assembly comprising a foldable frame assembly and an enclosure. The foldable frame assembly includes a central hub, at least four support legs spaced outwardly of the hub, and a linkage assembly hingedly connected to the central hub and to the legs. The linkage assembly is adapted to maintain the legs in a first expanded spaced array in which they are upright and generally parallel and widely spaced from the central hub and to permit movement of the legs into a second contracted compact array in which the legs are much closer to the central hub and to each other for transport. The enclosure is secured to the support legs and may include a depending skirt at the base of the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4586746
Abstract: An improved child's seat for mounting at the edge of a table includes a pair of spaced U-shaped frame members and a seat and back releasably secured thereto. The seat and back defines channels which embrace portions of the frame members, and which may be snap-connected thereto for release therefrom. The channels provide extensions which define aligned apertures to snap-receive clip-providing locking pins. A removable vertical restraining post is snap-secured to the seat by locking hooks to prevent a child user from sliding forwardly off the seat. The frame members each mount a vertically extending strut. A lock assembly is slideably mounted on the strut for upward movement to clamp against the lower surface of a table top. The lock assembly resists downward movement via a wedge which bears downwardly against the strut. A spring so maintains the wedge-strut relationship.
