  • Patent number: 9278418
Abstract: A device for supplying a liquid cooling lubricant to a cutting edge of a lathe tool is operatively connected with a fast-tool servo by way of a tool holder in order to be able to execute oscillating movements in an advance direction in common with the tool holder. A first connection is stationary with respect to a housing of the fast-tool servo, for a cooling lubricant source and an outlet, which is in fluid connection with the first connection, for delivery of a cooling lubricant jet to the lathe tool. The outlet is provided at the tool holder and is in fluid connection with the first connection by way of a hose portion so that the cooling lubricant jet delivered via the outlet always impinges at a predetermined point on the cutting edge of the lathe tool even when stroke movements of the tool holder take place.

  • Patent number: 9089948
Abstract: The proposed polishing tool has a base body with an open interior space with which the polishing tool can be slidably fitted onto a holder of a tool spindle, initially as far as a latching position. A retaining ring placed in an annular groove of the interior space engages in a counter-groove of the holder. The polishing tool can then be slid further onto the holder under the polishing work pressure, until, under the simultaneous action of torque, driver elements of the base body engage in driver counter-elements of the holder for transmitting rotary movement. At least in the latter relative position between the polishing tool and tool spindle, the retaining ring provides a seal against penetration of the abrasive polishing agent.

  • Publication number: 20150047479
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine for processing plastic workpieces. A machine housing surrounds a working chamber located between a workpiece spindle for rotationally driving the workpieces about a workpiece axis of rotation and a fast tool servo for producing an oscillating feeding movement of a rotary tool in the direction of the workpieces. The workpiece spindle is provided with a carriage which can be driven and is guided on at least two guide surfaces of a guiding arrangement in order to produce a relative advancing movement between the workpiece and the rotary tool. The advancing movement runs transversely with respect to the feeding movement and defining therewith a processing plane in which during processing the rotary tool engages with the workpiece. The guiding arrangement is mounted on the machine housing such that the processing plane extends between the two guide surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8382932
Abstract: A new lens blocking material (adhesive composition 78) is proposed that essentially overcomes the drawbacks of previous blocking materials. This new material combines traditional UV and/or visible light (VIS) curable polymer materials with specially selected filler (s) as a non polymerizing solid in order to achieve or improve certain desirable material properties, including those of low shrinkage, low exothermic heat of polymerization, and improving the ability to deblock, while simultaneously reducing the high cost associated with such UV/VIS radiation curable materials. The new material is being used in methods for blocking a lens blank (54) onto a lens block (62) with a lens mounting face (64) that has a predetermined block curve, in which the number of different block curves required to cover the full range of standard lenses is minimized.
